Boxing Day, and Wally and Julie the Pointers are taking a well-deserved break from going bonkers all round the garden. Wally (nearest) is only 1 year old. Julie is 14, and very much the boss.

I was not the only one interested in capturing my wildlife subject. When I saw this beauty coming closer on the other side of the river, I was completely taken by him or her, enough that I started to shoot this dog instead of my subject. It was the first time I saw a German Shorthair Pointer, well I think that is what it is. Would love to take head shots of this very lovely animal some day.

The versatile, medium-sized German Shorthaired Pointer is an enthusiastic gundog of all trades who thrives on vigorous exercise, positive training, and a lot of love.
The former bus depot at Llandudno Junction still exists but is abandoned and, in August 2017, looks rather a sorry sight. Arriva Buses Wales now park their buses in a corner of the Alpine of Llandudno depot where I saw ageing Dennis Dart SLF / Plaxton Pointer B27F 844 Y544UJC, new to Arriva Cymru in 2001.
Rabbit is an English Pointer Mix, and she does in fact go on point from time to time. She's seen here yesterday afternoon pointing a deer. Sometimes she points with lovely, classical, Alfred Duke dog-portrait form, but never when I have a camera in hand. :)
More often Rabbit's pointing is a signal of uncertainty or indecision. She'll go on a wobbly, tentative point if you call her and she can't quite decide whether to respond, of if she's torn between coming over for a hug or checking out a delicious smell from the kitchen.
It makes me wonder whether pointing in the hunting fields starts out as a sign of indecision. "Do I sprint and try to catch this thing now, or do I stalk it for another step or two before I take off?"
Better in color (below) or black and white?

I take my German Shorthaired Pointer to the woodland adjacent to Phalaborwa for his weekly exercise, and mine. I always take my camera and macro lens with me to shoot butterflies and all sorts of insects and wild flowers.

Prompt: A full body painting of a German Wirehaired pointer dog, standing on a grassy field with a blurred background. The dog has a short, brindle coat with a black saddle and white markings on its legs and chest. It is wearing a blue collar with a silver buckle. The dog's ears are floppy and its tail is docked. The lighting is natural. The dog is looking to the side, with a calm and alert expression --ar 5:4 --v 7
