Alpha Centauri and Beta Centauri (Hadar) are sometimes called the Southern Pointer Stars. They point to the Southern Cross. The Southern Cross is distinctive in its own right, but, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere and want to be sure you've found the Cross, these two stars can help you. The Milky Way arm is just around them in the southern celestial sky.
With a clear and mild evening forecast we thought it rude not to take 3238 out for some night photography and the first opportunity was in the well light car park of the Grasshopper Pub at Moorhouse between Oxted and Westerham. Saturday 26th September 2015.

Plaxton Pointer bodied Dart SLF with Riverside Transport of Barrhead. Riverside started as a training school but quickly joined the massed ranks of small operators in the Paisley area until its demise in 2013. Nine Darts were bought new but this one had the shortest life, being badly damaged by fire in September 2009 and then stripped for spares.
