The Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) on Dam Square was undergoing major renovations, and to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the city of Amsterdam, an observation deck was built so visitors could enjoy the view over Dam Square and the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, but especially over the city of Amsterdam.

Hrad Český Krumlov 18/02/2025 12h45
Our visit to the Hrad Český Krumlov (Český Krumlov Castle) was basicly to get the view of the little town below but the castle itself was beautiful.
A great view of Český Krumlov from the Upper Castle.
Hrad Český Krumlov
Hrad Český Krumlov is a castle in Český Krumlov in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It dates back to 1253 when the first castle was built by the Vítkovci family, the main branch of the powerful Bohemian family Rosenberg. Currently the castle is listed as a national heritage site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, thus serves as a major tourist attraction. It is the second most visited castle and the second largest castle and chateau complex in the Czech Republic after Prague Castle.
The castle stands on a steep and long rocky headland, which is lined with Vltava from the south. The bridge over the Bear Moat leads through the passage to the Lower Castle, on the left side is the oldest part of the castle (Hrádek), an old palace with a tower from the 13th century and paintings from 1580. From the tower is a beautiful view of the castle and the city. The eastern and northern wing of the irregular large courtyard of the Lower Castle consists of a burgrave's house from 1578. In the middle of the courtyard is a stone fountain from 1641. Across another moat a brick bridge leads to the Upper Castle, the Rosenberg Palace. The unique five-story Cloak Bridge over a deep carved moat from 1764 connects Upper Castle with the castle theater building and gardens.
The Český Krumlov Baroque Theatre from 1767 is one of the best preserved Baroque theatres in the world..
Vyhlídka na Letné 19/02/2026 10h55
Vyhlídka na Letné is a famous viewpoint in the Letná Park (Letenská pláň). The view over both the old and new city is fantastic. Best moment is in the morning. With some backlight but it is still quiet at this point.
The Letná Lookout, often associated with the metronome (Time Machine), offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the historic center of Prague, the Vltava River and its bridges. This iconic spot, located on the site of the former Stalin monument.
Prague
Prague (Czech: Praha) is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic and the historical capital of Bohemia. Situated on the Vltava river (Moldau), Prague is home to about 1.4 million people.
Prague is a political, cultural, and economic hub of Central Europe, with a rich history and Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia and residence of several Holy Roman Emperors, most notably Charles IV (r. 1346–1378) and Rudolf II (r. 1575–1611). It was an important city to the Habsburg monarchy and Austria-Hungary. The city played major roles in the Bohemian and the Protestant Reformations, the Thirty Years' War and in 20th-century history as the capital of Czechoslovakia between the World Wars and the post-war Communist era.

The idea behind this photograph is to capture the building, shot from a low angle, so that it appears to transform into a blade of steel piercing the sky. The symmetry and verticality emphasize the impression of power and dynamism. More than just a building, it is a true urban icon, symbolizing the ambition and modernity of contemporary architecture.

Tour Eiffel 05/09/2021 19h38
The best view point of Paris is of course the Tour Eiffel. Looking in the Southwestern direction here overlooking the neighbourhood of Grenelle (15ème arrondissement).
Tour Eiffel
Tour Eiffel, is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.
Constructed from 1887–89 as the entrance to the 1889 World's Fair, it was initially criticized by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but it has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognisable structures in the world.
The Eiffel Tower is the most-visited paid monument in the world; 6.91 million people ascended it in 2015.
The tower is 324 metres tall, about the same height as an 81-storey building, and the tallest structure in Paris. Its base is square, measuring 125 metres on each side. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington Monument to become the tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years until the Chrysler Building in New York City was finished in 1930. Due to the addition of a broadcasting aerial at the top of the tower in 1957, it is now taller than the Chrysler Building by 5.2 metres. Excluding transmitters, the Eiffel Tower is the second-tallest structure in France after the Millau Viaduct.
The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. The top level's upper platform is 276 m above the ground – the highest observation deck accessible to the public in the European Union. Tickets can be purchased to ascend by stairs or lift (elevator) to the first and second levels. The climb from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the climb from the first level to the second. Although there is a staircase to the top level, it is usually only accessible by lift.

Monaco
Monaco, officially the Principality of Monaco, is a sovereign city-state and microstate in Western Europe. Situated on the French Riviera, it is a semi-enclave bordered by France to the north, east, and west, with the Mediterranean Sea to the south; the Italian region of Liguria is about 15 km east. With a population of 38,423 living in an area of 2.08 km2, Monaco is the second smallest sovereign state in the world, after Vatican City, as well as the most densely populated. It also has the world's shortest national coastline of any non-landlocked nation, at 3.83 km. Fewer than 10,000 of its residents are Monégasque nationals. Although French is the official language of Monaco, Italian and Monégasque are also widely spoken and understood.
