VOIR EN GRAND / SEE IN BIG SIZE.
France. Vosges. Alsace. Haut-Rhin.
I have seen this tree hundreds of times,
I have taken dozen of pictures,
I just never get fed up of it!
Its shape is wonderful against the colorful sky.
Its size makes it the king of the coast.
I just love it!
I wanted to travel to Morocco by boat in order to experiment visually the continent change from Europa to Africa. Only on land travelling make the passenger really feel the distance and the cultural evolution all along the way. Since I had previously visited Sevilla, Malaga was for me an obvious starting point for a short Morocco trip. Then I would go to gibraltar, Tarifa and take the boat for Tanger, my first Morocco city. The trip lasted 3 weeks until I reach south of Atlas Mountain Range, just before the desert.
The conclusion of my travel is that I could not recognize any Moroccan people anymore since I could realize that from north to south, and depending of the mountain side landscape, geography and people are totally different.

Place Jemaa El Fna 03/07/2023 19h25
The place to be when in Marrakech. There is a lot going on at this central square. During the day but expecially at night when the temperatures are mostly much more pleasant (read: less hot). Point of view is the roof top terrace of Café de la Place.
Place Jemaa el-Fna
Jemaa el-Fnaa (Arabic: ساحة جامع الفناء ) also Jemaa el-Fna, Djema el-Fna or Djemaa el-Fnaa) is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter (old city). It remains the main square of Marrakesh, used by locals and tourists.
The origin of its name is unclear: jamaa means "congregation" or "mosque" in Arabic, probably referring to a destroyed mosque on the site. Fnaʼ or fanâʼ can mean "death/extinction" or "a courtyard, space in front of a building". "finâʼ in Arabic commonly means "open area"; a straight translation would be "the gathering/congregation area". Other meanings could be "The assembly of death," or "The Mosque at the End of the World". Another explanation is that it refers to a mosque with a distinctive courtyard or square in front of it. A third translation is "assembly of the dead", referring to public executions on the plaza around 1050 CE.
During the day it is predominantly occupied by orange juice stalls, water sellers with traditional leather water-bags and brass cups, youths with chained Barbary apes and snake charmers despite the protected status of these species under Moroccan law.
As the day progresses, the entertainment on offer changes: the snake charmers depart, and late in the day the square becomes more crowded, with Chleuh dancing-boys (it would be against custom for girls to provide such entertainment), story-tellers (telling their tales in Berber or Arabic, to an audience of locals), magicians, and peddlers of traditional medicines. As darkness falls, the square fills with dozens of food-stalls as the number of people on the square peaks.
The square is edged along one side by the Marrakesh souk, a traditional North African market catering both for the common daily needs of the locals, and for the tourist trade. On other sides are hotels and gardens and café terraces, and narrow streets lead into the alleys of the medina quarter.

Hrad Český Krumlov 18/02/2025 12h45
Our visit to the Hrad Český Krumlov (Český Krumlov Castle) was basicly to get the view of the little town below but the castle itself was beautiful.
A great view of Český Krumlov from the Upper Castle.
Hrad Český Krumlov
Hrad Český Krumlov is a castle in Český Krumlov in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It dates back to 1253 when the first castle was built by the Vítkovci family, the main branch of the powerful Bohemian family Rosenberg. Currently the castle is listed as a national heritage site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, thus serves as a major tourist attraction. It is the second most visited castle and the second largest castle and chateau complex in the Czech Republic after Prague Castle.
The castle stands on a steep and long rocky headland, which is lined with Vltava from the south. The bridge over the Bear Moat leads through the passage to the Lower Castle, on the left side is the oldest part of the castle (Hrádek), an old palace with a tower from the 13th century and paintings from 1580. From the tower is a beautiful view of the castle and the city. The eastern and northern wing of the irregular large courtyard of the Lower Castle consists of a burgrave's house from 1578. In the middle of the courtyard is a stone fountain from 1641. Across another moat a brick bridge leads to the Upper Castle, the Rosenberg Palace. The unique five-story Cloak Bridge over a deep carved moat from 1764 connects Upper Castle with the castle theater building and gardens.
The Český Krumlov Baroque Theatre from 1767 is one of the best preserved Baroque theatres in the world..

Nieuwe Kerk 02/04/2025 15h24
The Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) on Dam Square was undergoing major renovations, and to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the city of Amsterdam, an observation deck was built so visitors could enjoy the view over Dam Square and the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, but especially over the city of Amsterdam.

Vyhlídka na Letné 19/02/2026 11h02
Vyhlídka na Letné is a famous viewpoint in the Letná Park (Letenská pláň). The view over both the old and new city is fantastic. Best moment is in the morning. With some backlight but it is still quiet at this point.
The Letná Lookout, often associated with the metronome (Time Machine), offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the historic center of Prague, the Vltava River and its bridges. This iconic spot, located on the site of the former Stalin monument.
Prague
Prague (Czech: Praha) is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic and the historical capital of Bohemia. Situated on the Vltava river (Moldau), Prague is home to about 1.4 million people.
Prague is a political, cultural, and economic hub of Central Europe, with a rich history and Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. It was the capital of the Kingdom of Bohemia and residence of several Holy Roman Emperors, most notably Charles IV (r. 1346–1378) and Rudolf II (r. 1575–1611). It was an important city to the Habsburg monarchy and Austria-Hungary. The city played major roles in the Bohemian and the Protestant Reformations, the Thirty Years' War and in 20th-century history as the capital of Czechoslovakia between the World Wars and the post-war Communist era.
Population: 1,384,700 (2024)
