The mobile platform bridge at Brockenhurst. This was installed to enable barrows and trolleys to cross from the station entrance to the up island platform. It can be used only under the control of the signaller and is released by the lever in the background. Such crossing devices were installed at a number of stations such as Eastleigh, Ventnor and Horsham but this one at Brockenhurst is probably the last one in use in the UK
8120 stands at the end of Platform 2 at Diamond Valley Station while its train is loaded. This is usually the second arrival end of the platform but with trains running in the opposite direction to normal it became the departure end for the day.

this platform extension at the new station is apparently forward planning for longer trains on the Hammersmith & City line "some time in the future" - as the very helpful station man told me while I took the photo :)
Spetisbury Station was on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway line between Broadstone and Blandford. When first opened in 1860, it was a proper station, but in 1934 it was relegated to a halt (unmanned, small station) and eventually closed to passengers in 1956. Trains still passed the station through to 1966 when the railway was closed to passengers, and the track was lifted in 1969.
This station is situated just south of a road bridge, and there is a flight of brick steps to get up to it from the road. The track bed is now part of the North Dorset Trailway (Charlton Marshall to Spetisbury section).
I was walking past my neighbour's garden recently and noticed he'd put this wooden recliner on his bonfire waiting to be burned. With his permission I snaffled it and it has been upcycled as a raised platform to save my back and knees on what remains of my plant nursery.

The tower has five underground floors and two public viewing platforms. It is the only skyscraper in Frankfurt with a public viewing observatory. It is the 4th tallest building in Frankfurt and the 4th tallest in Germany, tied with Tower 185.
