District line D78 Farewell Tour train enters Mansion House station - the train is moving a slightly blurred. Next to it is the empty trackbed from the now disused former platform track. Still image from HD video.
68020 stands at York, at the rear of what would eventually be 1P94, TPE’s 2130½ (Although I frequently observe half minute passing times on RTT, I’ve never seen a half minute departure time) to Manchester Piccadillly. After a loco failure, one of the diagrams went awry and this service started at York rather than the scheduled departure from Scarborough.

Two seconds at the Upper Tahquamenon Falls, as viewed from a downstream observation platform, on a rainy summer morning in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
The Upper Tahquamenon Falls are more 60 m (200 feet) across with a drop of approximately 15m (50 feet) with a peak spring runoff volume of nearly 200,000L (50,000 gallons) per second- - -making the upper falls one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. The upper falls lie with in the Tahquamenon Falls State Park, Luce County- - -in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The yellowish / brown colour of the water stems from tannins leached from cedar swamps from the rivers watershed. The foam on the river results from the combination of soft water (low mineral concentration), lignin proteins from decaying organic matter, and turbidity.

The TPO has just arrived, it's late and the barrows are in the wrong places. Meanwhile a couple of late night passengers are still waiting for the sleeper train. All done on Loughborough GCR Station with the help of a Neil Cave / Jason Cross charter.

The low sun shines on the southbound platform at W 8th St Station. This platform is typically empty, as very few people board a train here heading towards Coney Island, one station away.

Taken at the museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon. The museum is full of large black and white film prints, most of which are stunning, and depict industrial scenes of train building. I tried to emulate some of these by converting this image to black and white and adding a mid-ground haze.
A view looking east from the CTA Indiana L platform in 1986.
Taken almost 30 years after the previous image, the big warehouse building and the Chicago Junction Railway tracks are still in place on the embankment, but the remnants of the one-time connection for the Kenwood L line have almost disappeared. Into the 1970s the remains of the connector track that joined the L structure to the CJRy embankment remained, but it was gone before I started taking photos.

Amtrak EMD SDP40F diesel electric locomotive # 604, along with another SDP40F locomotive, is in charge of the Amtrak Champion while it is stopped at the station platform in Winter Park, Florida, 1976. You can see the engineer's arm laying on the cab window armrest. The train is heading westbound to Orlando, Lakeland, Tampa and then to Saint Petersburg, its final destination.
If you know me you know I am a sucker for a Warbonnet. Hopefully one year from now I wont be living here anymore so this summer I'm going to try to knock off every angle I've wanted, I'm thankful Lisle offers so many. BNSF 650 leads an ordinary stack through on the outbound platform track (M1) passing the waiting room and the entrance to the pedestrian tunnel.
