Washington Platform, a restaurant with a history dating back to 1860, permanently closed its doors at the end of 2021.

Train conductors on the platform point and call to help reduce human error when trains come and go. I've started practicing that when I work those step by step motions and feel it's helped my practice in the work I do. Much respect to all the work that goes to keeping the train systems running in Japan.
I got to this Red Line platform in the Harvard Square subway station just after a southbound train left (for Boston).

Platform 11 at Stratford railway station London in 1990. Looking towards Leyton. Filmed using 35mm slide film.
Plastic Platform and heel. Super comfy. One of my favorites. Easy to slide across a tile floor. Heels are bendy but strong.
English Electric Type 4 crawls through Kings Norton station in April 1966. It is in green livery with small yellow warning panels. D289 was withdrawn in July 1976 as 40089. Kings Norton has changed over the years, this platform is no longer in use, the view through the bridge along the Camp Hill line is blocked by tree growth, overhead masts etc and the little booking office has been replaced by the current style model. The loco and stock have long departed.

Heels are bent on these platform boots. The heel caps and soles wore away too. Just plastic left and they they are a bit slippery walking on all plastic bottoms.

Another claim to fame - In 1998 Little Kimble received the British Royal Train. The G8 Summit was held in Birmingham that year and the wives of the G8 countries' leaders, including Cherie Blair and Hillary Clinton, were taken to Chequers via the Royal Train and Little Kimble, which is the nearest station to Chequers. The train reversed at Princes Risborough and the wives alighted at Little Kimble, whence they were transferred to Chequers via limousine.
My last longish walk of 2025 on a frosty misty morning. Setting out from Little Kimble this 8.14km walk took in Ellesborough, Beacon Hill, Chequer's Knap and back along the Chilterns Railway Princes Risborough to Aylesbury branch line.
This is a walk I have not done before made all the more interesting by not being able to see any landmarks through the mist, so a little bit of guesswork in places!
And then my drive home was in bright sunshine with clear blue skies!!
