Some would drywall, some would use mesh tape and joint compound...but I fix plaster with plaster!
I am glad that I was able to recover the ceilings and walls on the first and second floor on the front section of the house. The thought that my walls and ceilings are the same that were here in 1885 is reassuring. Let there be some continuity in the world, please!

The Crowne Plaza at Union Station, where we stayed this year, is a little over-themed / cheesy, complete with plaster 'ghosts'.

Hagia Sophia
A corner in the ceiling of Hagia Sophia where the plaster is peeled away to reveal a mosaic.
Victorian style plaster vents, with some of the plaster trim in the study. Once we fix up the gaping hole in the ceiling and paint the wood panelling it should look really sharp.
