More thrift rescues from yesterday. The taller gal had been around long enough to be color-of-the-week, and that was *after* a half-off-everything Saturday. People around here have no sense of kitsch...

I'll never stop marvelling at this stuff. I'm not really a fan of decoration as a rule, but Moroccan craftsmanship provides an absolute exception - it really is amazing stuff.
The plasters on the wall, and has been drying for months (we've been busy...I know- lame) but things are going to change.
I'm trying my hand at taking textures shots to use in photo manipulation. I honestly have no clue what I'm doing so any helpful hints would be appreciated.

Asbestiform mineral contamination was later found in many Zonolite products and now generally assumed to be contaminated with asbestos.

15 mL of Plaster of Paris was hydrated with 7.5mL of a solution of 1mL sugar and ~20 crystals of CuCl2. On top was added about 1mL of strontium carbonate and 0.5mL of sulfur as well as about 0.03mL of copper carbonate (malachite). After the plaster had set it was heated until bluish yellow incandescence using a MAPP gas torch (gas ran out during heating).
The luminescence of this sample was particularly bright making it a challenge to photograph.
