Always surprised when I find fungi in the middle of winter. This one was in mid-January. I found it in wet leaf litter and rotten wood. New for me. Supposedly edible like other oysters but not very good as it is tough and not that tasty. (Read this, didn't try it)

I've lost count the number of times I've shot this bridge over the past year. Each time I come back from shooting the results are usually - meh. This one I'm pretty happy with - I had a nice sky and late afternoon light. I'm not giving up - it could be better. Luckily, this is only a few miles from were I live. I'll be back.

I love reading Walt Whitman. He words are so calming.
Anyways, I had a slow start this morning, but ended up having a fairly productive day. I finally finished birthday shopping for my daughter, and was able tto work through some problems that have been weighing on me for a couple weeks now.
Kayla and I had a blast trying to take this pic. Literally a few seconds later we were nealy soaked by sprinklers. It was cute because we both had our cameras trying to run for cover. lol Kayla loved it...my camera not so much.

I absolutely LOVE this photo...the best part was peeking through the door to see her dancing and singing to christmas music in the mirror. I told her to pose and ran to get the camera.

Hannah and I decided to attend the Plano Balloon Festival this evening. So much better than last year (last year the weather didn't allow the balloons to launch). Perfect weather this year! The above pano was taken during the nightly balloon glow - it's quite the sight.
