The last night in San Diego, I just went back to my hotel room and vegged in front of the TV. I don't have cable at home, so I stumbled onto Project Runway. My very limited exposure to Reality TV has mostly been just seeing the monitors at the gym, and I've hated most of what I've seen. But this show avoids the bitchiness, backstabbing and most of the artificial drama of the Lowest Common Turd programming that passes for "entertainment" these days.
In a blatant (paid, I'm sure) product placement, this week's show required the contestants to create an outfit entirely from things available at the Hershey Store (including large posters, displays, etc.) in about 36 hours. All of them were great fun, but this one blew me away. It's all Twizzlers, and the space between the halves of the bustier is cellophane.
My favorite comment on this from a local wit:
Like i have always said: you can have my heart if you can chew through to it.
As you can see, the major rigid pad goes on the forehead, basically, with the strap behind and the nosepiece next to... um... the nose.

But still not glued down. After tests on scrap plexiglass, I found that a light coating of spray adhesive to the back of each swatch held them in place without obstructing the visibility of the labels.

Inspired by Berlin based label Studio Nono, students were asked to design a collection suitable for Spring/Summer 19 collection. The outcome was 4 hand painted designs and 2 metre screen printed fabric length.
Studio Nono is a fashion and textiles label working to produce unique feminine textiles ad accessories. Inspired by Japanese and Northern European design, they aim to create their own visual language through unique prints on natural materials. Designing for this label I aimed to create a delicate feminine colour palette and aesthetic using stylised fruit, floral and plant imagery. Other techniques explored were embroidery and beading.
