An IV catheter allows us to give IV fluids and inject intravenous drugs: it's an important safety measure during any anesthetic procedure. The white teflon catheter covers a sharp needle that's used to introduce it into a vein...
This is Faith... we had an extra bedroom and she needed one so she decided to call it hers. We're happy to have her live with us.
ran errands, bought beer, hung out in the yard drinking said beer with Jeff and Steph and Sarah, ate bbq (salad, rice, asparagus, marinated ahi tuna & prawns), watched Return of the King.

It was nice to be in the crowd as an advocate rather than my placement at my next meeting after the hearing, where I was in Silver Spring as one of the folks who stands in front of the room.
The WMATA hearing, in my opinion, was exquisitely conducted and I really felt like I had a chance to offer some input; in stark contrast to last year where it felt more like decisions were being forced upon us. Sure, *perhaps* a decision has already been made, anyway, but at least I *felt* better... like soma for the masses.
All-in-all I really felt it was a valued effort, with both attendees and attendants in high spirits (attendants consisting of desk staff pulled downstairs: planners, designers, lawyers, etc.) -- bravo to all!
I recorded testimony and submitted written comments. The quick gist:
Support:
- 10-cent fare increase
- Restructuring of Red Line service
- Restructuring of low-volume bus lines
Oppose:
- Use of funds from capital budget (such use should be minimised as much as feasible)
- Increasing rail headways for midday & evening service
- Increasing rail headways for weekend service
- Operating 6-car peak period trains instead of 8
- Opening the Metrorail system at 5:30 instead of 5:00 pm on weekdays.
- Closing the Metrorail system at 2:00 instead of 3:00 am on weekends.
- Reductions to high-volume bus lines
Propose:
- Evaluate feasibility of having only one attendant operate stations with 2+ accesses.
- If service reductions must be made to rail, considering increasing headways in suburban areas but maintaining headways in urban core.
- Continued efforts to acquire funding from DC, MD, and VA.

Drain tiling is the placement of polyethylene (a type of plastic) tubing below the surface of the ground for the purpose of draining excess water from the surface or subsurface of an agricultural field (in this instance).
For the agricultural producer, some of the intended benefits are: more area to crop (less water-covered), earlier into the field to plant (dries out quicker), don't have to drive around potholes when running equipment (more economical, saves fuel and overlap), better yields with less crops "drowning out", and tiling can be a tool to minimize crop losses due to increased salinity (high amount of "salts" in the soils due to other farming practices and high water tables). These benefits are not always guaranteed.
What about the unintended consequences that are (in many times) passed on to neighbors, other parts of the country, or won't take place until the future?
Some of these effects are: Loss of some nutrient and chemical filtration (these waters trickle through only a little soil before they are in the pipe and drained into a large lake or river), loss of wildlife habitat, loss of groundwater recharge for aquifers and those that get their water from wells, and potential contribution to increased flooding and pollution of neighbor's lands and/or rivers during spring flood season or after large rain events.
Normally, these waters would slowly seep down into the ground to recharge aquifers or would evaporate into the air. When drained, these waters reach streams or rivers in a matter of hours or days, increasing the flow of the river. Because these waters also have less filtration through the soil, they are direct routes for extra soil nutrients such as nitrates to get into rivers and lakes that serve as water supplies for towns and cities downstream.
"The traditional way to get rich is to transfer your costs to someone else." --whether to your neighbor, the taxpayer, or the generations that follow your own.

I quite like Ken Loach but this sort of stereotyping and rather blatant product placement rather annoys me. Yes, Scots do drink a lot of Irn Bru (and the ads for the drink are quite funny) but was it necessary to put a bottle of it in the hands of each actor? And yes, again, I know that it's a comedy but it's kind of heavy-handed. Just a wee bit too much, Ken. I'll stick to the single malt.
Eight foot up a telegraph pole on a route through an industrial estate. Not going to find many converts there.
With green rebar and steel track recently placed in the bridge's transitway, the next step is for crews to pour concrete to create the trackway on which MAX light rail trains and Portland Streetcars will travel.

I did it this week, beat my Dad to it!! I have got the feeling #366 (waste truck) will come before #325 (recyclables truck). Hope the waste driver takes the SULO 2 again because it will be the last time it will be set out! The SULO 2 has grass on the bottom, some bottlebrush leaves on top and more grass and some separate excess waste.
Got accepted on a 6 week placement with Asda today : ))
If they like my work, there is a possibility they will keep me on full time, yayyyyy : )))
In 2023 unitary electric transport operator of St Petersburg, Gorelektrotrans received 97 trolleybuses made in Belarus of model BKM 32100D (БКМ 32100D «Ольгерд») with an increased autonomous range of up to 20 kilometres. In 2024-2025, BKM Holding will deliver another batch of 79 trolleybuses of model 321 of the Olgerd series to St. Petersburg. In contrast to previous in the new ordered series 321 ‘Olgerd’ instead of a compartment with batteries - 5 seating passenger seats, 35 in total, so the reduction of autonomous travel to 250 m contributed to an increase in passenger capacity up to 96 people. The model for St. Petersburg is equipped with various options, including not only USB ports, video cameras, multimedia system, climate control, but also ‘Warm Floor’, ‘Talking City’, driver wakefulness monitoring system and other useful sensors. LED interior lighting and signal lines at the doors are used. The current collectors are equipped with an automatic boom catching system and a system of automatic placement on the catenary network, which does not require the driver to leave the vehicle.
These trolleybuses are produced by the Belarus company Belkommunmash (BKM; Производственное Объединение «Белкоммунмаш», БКМ). BKM was organized in 1973 on the basis of the streetcar and trolleybus repair shop under the Ministry of Municipal Economy of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic. During the first two decades the plant was repairing trolleybuses and streetcars of Minsk. After USSR breakage the independent Belarus got a strong incentive to develop its own vehicles production. Therefore a few articulated trolleybuses YMZ T1 (ЮМЗ Т1) were assembled at the plant in 1993 from engineering sets of Yuzhny Machine Building Plant of Ukraine. The enterprise also modernized trolleybuses of the ZIU models 100 - 101 produced by the Engels Electric Transportation Plant (later CJSC "TrolZa") in Engels, Saratov region of Russia. Later the company started to develop its own trolleybus models, the first model AKSM 201 (АКСМ 201) appeared in 1996, followed by models 213, 221, 321 (as in foto) and 333. Since 2000 the production of streetcars started: AKSM-1M, AKSM-60102. In 2016, the production of electric buses has been organized. Today the BKM Holding (ОАО «Управляющая компания холдинга «Белкоммунмаш» - ОАО «УКХ «БКМ) is the leading industrial enterprise in Belarus in the field of production and overhaul of rolling stock of urban electric transport.

so is this table to yotel what the spoon is to the matrix?
i really like the yotel hotel system, but sometimes they seem to be missing a few screws.
i stayed in the heathrow airport location the first night and was excited to put some of my lighter junk on the table in my pod-room. it wasn't until i had hiked up the tabletop and realised it had no kind of support system that i found this sign. which was visible under the table only AFTER you had lifted it up, possibly hoping to lead you to believe that the creaky metal surface you had just wrenched open to a semi-permanent 70º-angle had never even existed in the first place.
brilliant work, guys. absolutely brilliant.
