Athan receiving a dusting of pixie dust at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in World of Disney at Disney Springs Marketplace in Walt Disney World Resort.
The Gnome. The Pixie. He's here. Hush, don't scare him off!
Well, actually, the Pixie is a heavy all-metal box, I don't picture him wimping out. I imagine he'd rather headbutt someone and knock them unconscious, mischievous little thing.
So he's a boxy box. Almost cubical, black and chrome, very elegant. Quite heavy, unexpectedly. I read that there were several variations of the Gnome. Mine seems to be an early example although I'm not sure.

Summer nights at Disneyland Resort will sparkle with more pixie dust than ever this year as Tinker Bell and her fairy friends unite to create an iridescent light show in their first appearance under the stars, at Pixie Hollow Enchantment.
Pixies played "Doolittle" at the Paramount Theatre on November 5, 2011. This was part of the "Lost Cities" tour where Pixies played in places they have never played before.
One day in 1964, my mom left work on her lunch break and went to Market Street in Philly and bought a collection of pixie knee hugger dolls for Christmas decorations. They were made in Japan and were decked out in sparkly outfits and hats. She still lived at home with my grandparents then and she began hanging them from the chandelier at Christmastime. When she and my dad got married, she took the pixies with her and hung them from the chandelier in her new home, and then years later, when we moved from Philly to a new house, they followed us there, too. They have been dancing from the chandelier for over 40 years- and for every Christmas of my life!
Now as an adult, I wanted to recreate some of the memories of my childhood so I tracked down these cuties on Ebay for the past 3 years since you can't get them new anywhere. This year, my collection is finally complete. I now have a pixie party all of my own!

Ta-da! I'm actually a pixie ^___^
I wish -_-
Anywho, this is the first time I've given myself pixie/faerie ears, and I'm really happy with it. (Plus a bunch of airbrushing :P) So, now I'm off to camp for a week. See ya later flickrers!
I absolutely love Tinkerbell with her feisty and very funny and expressional personality. Marc Davis designed Tinkerbell for Disney´s animation picture Peter Pan, which was released in 1953. Walt Disney himself loved this pixie so much, that he decided to turn her into his new mascot of his TV show and the Disney Parks. With this little doll I pay tribute to the wonderfull pioneer and artist Walt Disney and the amazingly talented animator and artist Marc Davis. My doll is supposed to be the original Tinkerbell...a pixie, not a fairy!
Base doll: Disneystore 10" Tinkerbell, full facial repaint, real lashes added, hair restyled, dress altered and skirt handsewn, the whole dress and the wings are covered with tiny sparkles, which sadly is impossible for me to catch on the pcitures, but she sparkles as if she was covered with real pixie dust!
She´s listed on ebay, if someoen is interested: www.ebay.com/itm/261512092122
