Double-decker cake made for a friend's daughter's 11th birthday. Two bowl cakes draped in fondant, stacked, then decorated with fondant accents. Pixie sculpted from pre-colored fondant. Modified from "Fairy Toadstool House" design in Debbie Brown's "50 Easy Party Cakes" book.
Pixie in the wig and outfit for my SD girl.
No idea when she's come, but when I ordered FL were saying they'd ship them by 13 December - not sure I believe that really!
i took odette out for photos and it made me realise how much i need to get this girl her wig asap. i've finally started developing her character more, so that she actually has some substance underneath her mysterious exterior, and i'm really loving her right now. i just wish her stock eyes didn't look so... dead, because i really like them, they're just too flat.
this is the first time i've photographed her in her new outfit. i bought that hugeass barbie fashion pack just after christmas specifically to get this dress and the pale pink one for berry. i really love their new outfits on them. i think i should get some silver black white and gray bracelets for odette maybe.
-also i need to get her some wings-
This is my character-based doll of Pixie from Monster Rancher, an Obitsu/Parabox Gretel on a DD2 body (an underrated hybrid choice imo! Although Obitsu WS doesn't match Volks vinyl NS as exactly as I had thought.) I really see the resemblance between Gretel and the later heads her sculptor would go on to create -- she's almost like a proto/honorary Elfdoll.
Still needs her horns...and maybe I should bob that wig.
Don't we make a lovely couple? You're right, she would be the perfect wife for me, but I didn't have the guts to propose (and I have a sneaking suspicion she'd have turned me down).

Photo taken as a part of The Sutherland Shire's weekly Photo meet where we went in towards the city of Sydney and visited Newtown Cemetery where we met up wih our model, Pixie.
Thanks to Tony, who has much more experience with models than most of us do.
This is my very first time at taking model photo's and I was initially very hesitant, but thanks to Pixie for making our photography so easy, Pixie really knew how to use the camera lens to her benefit, this is only one image of some 600 I took that day and can honestly say there were very few throw aways.
Also there from our group were Alison, Carol, Tony, Stan and Justin, thanks guys for a great day. Check out some of the photo's we have posted here.
So ~ Pixie outfit came and i decided to try that brown wig she originally came with. It was a hard fix so after several tries, I found it can only work this way ^^.. a pony tail :D

These charming fairy house night lights are crafted from locally grown dried gourd, then hand painted, varnished and decorated.
Walking the National Mall for a good looking whippet like Pixie can be too much. Too many annoying dogs, too many annoying tourists, at some point you just have to let it all out.
The Cadeby Light Railway was a narrow gauge railway in the garden of the rectory in Cadeby, Leicestershire.
In the early 1960s the Reverend Teddy Boston became rector of All Saints' Church, Cadeby. Boston was a lifelong railway enthusiast and wanted to build a miniature railway in his new garden, but the cost proved prohibitive. Instead he searched for a full-sized narrow-gauge locomotive. In 1962 he purchased Pixie, a W.G. Bagnall 0-4-0ST from the Cranford quarry. The quarry owners donated a short length of track and two wagons and the Cadeby Light Railway was opened.
Over the years, the Rev. Boston built an extensive collection of ex-industrial narrow-gauge rolling stock which ran on the extremely short line in his garden. Although the Rev. Boston died in 1986, his widow Audrey kept the railway open for nearly twenty years, holding regular open days. The railway finally closed in 2005; subsequently the majority of the collection has been amalgamated with the Moseley Railway Trust at the Apedale Community Country Park, though it wasn't revealed what happened to Pixie.
At complete risk of permanently damaging my Manly Man, photographer, street credibility, I am uploading this image. I just couldn't erase the thought that the grove of trees used in the pano would make a great home for a pixie.
