This is my first try at adding texture to a photo. Here, I combined two of my photos that I edited in Pixelmator Pro to create this impressionist image.

Textile artist Katerina Marchenko is known for her delicate embroidery on transparent tulle, creating designs that seem to float in midair. But her artistry extends beyond the boundaries of traditional embroidery hoops—Marchenko transforms her intricate stitches into large-scale works and even repurposes old dinner plates as unconventional canvases.

°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
The definition of art has been a controversial topic for many years, and even Plato was against it !!!
He believed that art’s mimetic properties threatened the physical order of the tangible world. Plato feared artists because they could control their audience and ask questions that should only be asked with answers. In his ideal Utopia, Plato believed that art should not be taught, especially to the children of the Guardian Kings, who were the only ones allowed to ask questions.
The integration of artificial intelligence (A.I.) into the realm of art has sparked a debate regarding the capacity of A.I. to produce art.
A.I. FUNDAMENTALLY OPERATES AS A SYSTEM OF ALGORITHMS THAT CAN ANALYZE AND PROCESS DATA TO MIMIC HUMAN INTELLIGENCE.
As we navigate the evolving landscape of A.I. and art, it is crucial to remain open-minded, foster dialogue, and establish ethical frameworks that ensure the harmonious coexistence of human artistry and technological innovation.
With proper human integration, an individual can use A.I. to create works of art that mimic and serve as educational tools, just as Aristotle noted. Ultimately, the value of art, as with any technology, lies in the intention behind it, not just the process itself.”
ProCamera photos & parts of drawings done in Procreate further processed using Pixelmator & iColorama on iPad Pro L using Apple Pencil.
The photo of the girl was a rather whimsical, lymp, free pose mixed with a secondary photo which beckoned my artistic instincts to turn it into a digital watercolor, my medium of expression outside of the digital world. I used Pixelmator to resize, remove background & change some color parts of photos & elements. Some photos used were turned into contour drawings in iColorama with most contour line drawn in Procreate while continuing to experiment in both apps for watercolor effects, color, composition & story. The butterflies were all drawn in Procreate as well as contour lines from an over enlarged flower as seen simply in the background. I wanted to do something unexpected so I veered off into a color palette with a feel of slight mornfulness & deceit, thus the name, 'Butterfly Lies'. I added a slightly agitated feel on the center area of the girl in iColorama & then repeated original pose twice in watercolor like, rather souless replicas of the main figure in the background. I love experimenting with the artistic possibilities of Apps & photos, changing reality into what initially it may not be.

November

During a school trip, a group of children discovered behind a large glass thousands of snakes piled on top of each other.
Faced with this unexpected sight, they were struck with amazement: some stepped back, others moved closer, all fascinated and filled with wonder by this strange and mysterious animal world beyond anything they had imagined !

A nine-photo Hugin-stitched panorama of Manhattan from Summit One Vanderbilt. Shot facing south. Hand-held through a window. This is a redo of my previously posted shot. I figured out how to change the perspective in Hugin to give me a flat horizon, cropped for 1x3 perspective, and tweaked the luminance so that it will print as it looked when I shot it. This is a big mystery to me: knowing whether what I see on my monitor will look like what will be printed on paper.

In my continued quest to reproduce the appearance of an old Dutch master oil painting, this week's photo has been ‘painted‘ over using the oil paint brushes in Pixelmator (iPad) then further textured and processed in Photoshop for an oil painting effect.

Menorca, 2023.

The original plan was to get some jump shots and then attempt to superimpose using the layer function in pixelmator (thanks for the tutorial Mickster).
However, my eldest completely got into this and did it for real. so this is only cropped slightly but otherwise unedited. Taken with the camera flash on to highlight her against the drab (and blustery) garden. Her mack is slighty shiny so is reflective. There are many hilarious outtakes. and then her umbrella broke (see comments)
#71/115 challenge. It was a very blustery day.
2/215 - just for fun - boy did we have fun. and lots of giggles looking at the pics
i can't get over how 'photoshopped' this looks! but it isn't, honest. i guess it goes to show you can create these images for real given enthusiastic teenagers!
