The Alaska pipeline has transported over 16 billion barrels of oil from Prudhoe Bay in the north to the port of Valdez since it was completed in 1977 . It crosses several mountain ranges and is 800 miles long.

The pipe is 4 ft. in diameter. The vertical structures alongside of the pipeline are designed to cool the line down from the 145 degree fahrenheit rise in temperature caused by the friction of the flowing oil. I'm keeping my hand warm by touching the pipe.

Here is another pic of a surfer at Banzai Pipeline, a famous location on the North Shore of Oahu.

Taken on Iphone 3gs using the shakeitphoto app.

This is part of the pipeline that is being built between between the regeneration area in Seaton, Devon, and the sea where it will travel out for about half a mile to carry infill material to the site. In a similar way to how the palm island in Dubai was created.

You can view my blog, showing the progress on the regeneration site since 2008 here, seatonregeneration.blogspot.com/

This photo also happens to be my iphone photo for day 45 of my 365 project. The whole project can be viewed at the dedicated blog i have set up for it here: amoorehead365.blogspot.com/

Pipeline taking water from pond, GLCI, July 1996.

Just after noon; still just a few people on the beach and 2 guys in the water. (With an off-shore rain shower- looks like on the other side of Waimea Bay.)

There are currently more than 2.5 million miles of gas pipeline in the US. This, admittedly, is one--of not THE largest of them--a 42 inch interstate pipe most likely carrying fracked methane.

THIS is what is proposed to create a massive 20 mile long scar across Floyd County, and 12 other counties north and south of us.

We say No Thanks.

This image was taken about 1 second after the previous image. Surfer at the famous Banzai Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu.

This photograph shows a pipeline (25km in length) winding its way through farmland high on the mountains. This pipeline carries water (solely using gravity) from a river to a town with a population of over 3000 people.

My latest eco surf art painting is the famous Pipeline, on the the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. A huge thanks to local Sunshine Coast surf photographer Jack Dekort for taking such a great shot.

This painting has been created with Cobra water mixable oils, on eco friendly Belgian linen stretched on professional quality Queensland re-growth Hoop Pine stretcher bars, Tri-Art eco gesso sludge and Micador FSC brushes. No toxic solvents were used at all in the process. You can check out all of the eco friendly materials I use on the Environment page of my website.
