Sesiones intensivas que me llevan al interior de la Basílica Gótica de LA SEU de MANRESA, Los pasos previos y necesarios para el posterior pintar, pasan por el dibujar, tomar las notas y hacer rápidos bosquejos que me ayuden a captar las expresiones de las esculturas que son los Leones de piedra, los guardianes de las distintas tumbas que se encuentran en los interiores de esta bella y mística Catedral, estoy pintando a estos animales que son símbolos antiguos de realeza y sabiduría, las muestras del poder ancestral que los maestros constructores quisieron dejarnos como legado y mensajes ocultos. La historia la podemos estudiar en todos los detalles que a menudo pasan como desapercibidos, esta es una de las funciones de los artistas que también nos interesamos en los aspectos históricos y profundos, dibujando estas fieras facciones nos acercamos a las esencias del saber que se halla inscrito en la piedra esculpida. Fotos del artista pintor Ernest Descals en los estudios que proporcionan los fundamentos de la colección de pinturas con la infinita cosmogonia de las Catedrales Góticas en la Catalunya Interior.

La mar pinta i despinta cada dia els més grans quadres de les emocions. De vegades pinta l'alegría amb blau, o amb rosa que pren prestat del capvespre; d'altres fa servir el verd per l'esperança, o el gris plom per la ira.
Avui sembla que ha volgut pintar la pau.

Der größte Maler
Das Meer malt und übermalt jeden Tag die grossartigen Bilder der Emotionen. Manchmal malt es freudig in Blau oder in Rottönen, die es sich der Abenddämmerung entleiht; dann wieder wählt es grün für die Hoffnung oder das bleierne Grau für den Zorn.
Heute, so scheint es, wollte es den Frieden malen.

Electro diesels 73 212 and 73 109 lead 66 718 and it's train of MkII coaches through South Croydon on it's return trip from the Bluebell Railway to East Midlands Parkway.
The train had visited the East Sussex heritage railway during it's Beer Festival weekend, so hopefully participants of the tour enjoyed a pint or two during their visit.
For my part I'd enjoyed a couple (alright three) pints in a local pub before heading out to see the return working of the UK Railtours charter, so I blame the beer for an error of judgement in selecting such a poor location. That said I had assumed the train would have been routed through platform 3, on the right, instead of platform 4 and thereby providing a better view of the GBRf 73s.

The sun goes down over Newport Parrog after another perfect Pembrokeshire day. These two were enjoying a pint of beer as their mobile phones were set to capture timelapse images of the sunset.

Project: "We see people in the crowd"
During 1 year I'll be covering the wall with the crowd. In São Paulo - Brazil
Stopped at my local for a pint and relax on way home from Christmas shopping. About to have a sip of ale when I noticed this artwork on my glass, with a giant Steampunk-ish robot standing over the city in this glass from local indy beermakers Stewart Brewing.
I thought at first glance it was standing behind the Scott Monument in Edinburgh, although now I can see it more closely in the photo (hard to examine when beer glass was full earlier!) I'm not so sure - it looks a little like the Monument but with differences and thinking either it isn't it, or the cityscape in front of the robot is perhaps made up of bits and pieces of real buildings rather than an exact depiction. Anyway, it made me smile (as did the beer!)

Pintar con miedo
Silencioso, no esquivo, sino demasiado atento al chirrido de los parabienes innecesarios, Tom Daskam deambula por su santiaguina casa de Ñuñoa condenado al cumplimiento de lo que sabe hacer: pintar cuadros. “Para ser pintor hay que tener el día arreglado para poder concentrarse únicamente en eso. Si yo no pinto, no tengo nada que hacer; entonces, muchas veces pinto porque no me queda otra, y más encima me cuesta, porque no tengo tanto talento y me gusta que cada vez sea algo nuevo para mí. Lo que tengo, pues, son ganas de hacerlo y le pongo mucho
empeño, pero tampoco quedo nunca satisfecho”, dice, resumiendo así la cotidianeidad de su pasión.
En uno de los muros principales de esa casa –que, con la dignidad de sus adobes y su jardín salvaje, se resiste a la demolición generalizada– cuelga, por el momento, su última realización:
un caballo tendido en el suelo, derrotado, que sabe quién manda, como los que Daskam ha visto amansar allá, en Río Verde. Subjetividad y apego a su personal estilo figurativo confluyen en
esta composición arriesgada donde el patetismo se hace presente.
