Male Bearded Tit / Reedling mid call. The 'Ping' call is very disticntive and used by the family flock to keep tabs on each other whilst foraging through the reedbed.
I have noticed before that the 'moustache' is in 2 main parts - with a break at the bottom of the top beak.
I have included a link to an earlier shot below where this was a bit clearer (and closer). Both shots however were taken in almost exactly the same spot, but a year apart.
Taken in Norfolk.

píng ān. Safe and sound, well without mishap, quiet and safe at peace.
The Ping River as seen from Wat Phra That Doi Noi. This Buddhist temple sits on top of a hill on the Chiang Mai side of the Ping River separating Lamphun Province on the left from Chiang Mai Province on the right.
This is Ted who I spent a long time watching while he tried to grab his tennis ball while swimming in the water. Every time he got his mouth round it, it pinged further along. I am happy to report that eventually he did manage to retrieve it

One of my favourite films ever is, The Hunt For Rec October, (work with me on this one). There is the classic Basil Exposition line uttered by Alec Baldwin's character "How do you get a crew [people] off a NUCLEAR submarine" *raise eyebrow*. The implication being that Jack Ryan knows Remius will fake a nuclear leak in order to defect.
It is a none-too-subtle way of showing you can easily motivate people through fear and confusion (greed, love, necessity are others). Seems familiar somehow *LL raises eyebrow*.
A film about submarines containing the word October seems quite apt as October is often a month that brings surprises and something might get sunk soon.
A big October surprise on the way?

I love not taking my tripod on a hike. We walked for 6 hours through the mountains for this view. This panorama is a merge of 5 images taken handheld..
Longsheng, Guanxi.
Part of our tour to China some years back. Some of the unspoiled scenery we were privileged to witness. Hills sculpted into rice terraces that change colour every season, green in summer, yellow in autumn, white in winter. Our visit was in May before all that but still beautiful. Panorama stitched together in Photoshop from two pictures. It was not my intention to take a pano at the time, I am amazed that it worked! I only wanted to get more of the beautiful scenery and interesting village. It is not great quality photography, but I think it is got a good 'moment'.
At one time, the town of Ping was a thriving community. This house belonged to the post master and functioned as the post office from 1889--1910. Luckily, somewhere along the way, a metal roof was installed, slowing the deterioration of this abandoned home.
Happy Fence Friday!
I'm interested in everything about people. Not just, 'what do you do for a living?' but I want to know about their fears and sadnesses and listen to their regrets, both sides of it, the happy and the sad.

Lantau
Lantau Island (also Lantao Island; Chinese: 大嶼山) is the largest island in Hong Kong, located at the mouth of the Pearl River. Administratively, most of Lantau Island is part of the Islands District of Hong Kong. A small northeastern portion of the island is located in the Tsuen Wan District.
The Ngong Ping 360, a gondola lift, is located on Lantau and is operated by the MTR. Opened in mid-September 2006, this provides a 5.7 km 20 minute gondola cableway journey between Tung Chung and Ngong Ping. (Wikipedia)
