I had so much fun with these. They were inspired by and created using a sculpture my Aunt made for me (she is so talented)
I made the molds from the sculpture and I was so happy with the results!
While Joel was working on a friend's car (out in the middle of nowhere at a friend's house), I walked around and took pictures in the light rain.
This is a photo of a pinecone that I took in class. The purpose of this photo was to capture the texture of the pinecone while having shallow depth of field. In Photoshop, I used Auto Tone and Auto Contrast. I also used the Gradient Tool to create a fade in color as you look farther down the pinecone. I like this image because it has a simple look but also captures detail.
Playing around with DOF. I really like the way it came out. The DOF is really pretty shallow. Captured @ Waynesborough Park Goldsboro, NC
1. The empty branches makes it feel like fall and also the red/orange-y colour grading of the picture
2. I think the branch cuts to much through the pinecone in focus.
These pinecones were hanging from a tree at the cemetery. One of them went home with us, and became a mouth for a zombie snowman.

I think it looks better larger. There is quite a bit of detail in that cone.
