Saw the huge pine during the trip to "Schwäbische Alb".

Diese grosse Kiefer habe ich während unserers Ausflug auf die Schwäbische Alb gesehen.

The setting October sun lit up the forest beautifully

A pine cone branch is stuffed with white "cotton candy" snow

From my lunch break yesterday.. It was a gray and cloudy day and I was looking for a little splash color.

Pine trees in mountains

A simple pine cone that has been collecting cattail seeds.

I've spent hours and hours figuring out tethered shooting and Zerene focus stacking software to the point I'm now sick of editing, computers and complicated photography. On my mountain bike ride before work this was the only subject that appealed to me on a beautiful sunny day. At least I finally got a motorcycle out for the first time this year, too bad it was just to get to work.

I really liked the red color of these beginning pine cones as I walked through the camp grounds at Kohler-Andrae State Park.

Looks better LARGE

This week I'm posting images that show some of the influence I've had from my good Flickr friend Gary - A.K.A. The Pentax Hammer.

Today I'm going to link you to my all time favorite photo of Garys. I've walked the area where he took it many times, and have tried to get a similar image. So far I have nothing that I like as well as his. I'm pretty sure mine is in the same vicinity, because I saw Gary, dressed as Red Riding Hood, skipping along here, with his camera in a basket. Anyway, you can see his awesome image HERE. He did an amazing job on the Orton effect.

I have not seen Pine Siskins in my yard for the past 6 years - but they are back in droves this fall. There were a dozen or so at the feeders and sitting on the deck.

A February hoar frost leaves a thick coating of ice crystals on pine branches.

The largest pine on the beach. It looks like it's giving commands to the smaller trees.

This 7artisans 7.5 f2.8 ED fisheye lens is surprisingly sharp. Fisheye effect is strong so it's usable only in few occasions. I'll try to find those occasions thought.

Photographed using a 110 film camera which has the logo of "Super Mario 64" on the top...in other words, a toy camera, probably given away for some purpose. The film is by Lomography (I can assure you that, in the right camera, their 110 film is actually quite decent, obviously though not so much in a camera like this one).

It's very lo-fi...a bit too lo-fi for my taste. But I do like this photo.

I'll be honest, I gasped when I saw these pine needles floating on the water. What great patterns and textures. I thought they looked best in b/w.

I love close ups and when I took this picture, all I could think of was fireworks.
