A surprisingly colorful sunrise was the reward for an early morning walk to the pier in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

The beginning of sunset under Pier 60, Clearwater Beach, Florida.
I took this around 8pm before stepping out from under the pier and watching the sky as it turned into a deep red sunset.
This is one of my favourite pictures. I like the long exposure, pastel colours, symmetry and the framing provided by the pier itself.
Thank you variable ND filter!
Happy with this one
This morning's melting moon from Pier60 at Clearwater Beach. It was very windy on the beach which made this shot challenging.
Should have been in Clearwater last year but due to covid we had to cancel. So this is a rework on an image from 2018.
OK, I admit, I love shooting the moon. Here are a few more shots from this mornings moonset at Pier60 on Clearwater Beach. It was very windy on the beach which made this shot challenging.

The popular Pier 60 on Clearwater beach. Most evenings, the pier is a popular place for street merchants and performers. But it can also be a place to view some stunning skies and sunsets....
I went on GoogleEarth, and drew a line along the length of Pier60. It sits at a compass bearing of 279.5 degrees. Then, I found an online sun angle tracker, and found that the sun sets at a compass bearing of 279.5 degrees on April 10, 2015.
So, I went to the pier on that day, and it worked. The photo would have been better if a cloud wasn't obscuring the horizon right as the sun set.
According to my calculations, this should happen again on September 2, 2015.
Pier 60 at Clearwater Beach in Florida is renown for its sunsets but today about 15 mins before the sunset this fog rolled in. This is more processing than I usually do.

Clearwater Beach Florida ranks in the top 10 best beaches in the USA. With the new boardwalk and new resorts added in the last few years, it definitely shows character this side of Tampa Bay area.

I guess I decided something unique on this particular photo. Did run it through HDR on photomatix. Not the appropriate way but close enough.
Looks like a good resemblance except happier. These artist are so fast, quite interesting to watch. Taken at Clearwater Beach, Pier 60 in Florida with a Carl Zeiss Planar 50mm 1.7
A more panoramic capture of Clearwater Beach during sunrise hours. Previous photo I posted was in the middle of the day with a crowded beach. What a difference.
