This ancient GMC pickup served Bob Carlson for many years. I think he could still run it! Evidently he can't part with it.
This guitar is supposed to have a J-80C neck pickup but this is a J-90 (or J-90C) which is a bridge pickup.
Strange things afoot...

Last week, 16 1/2 years to the day (and 157,000 miles) after I bought it new, I sold my beloved truck, the first and only vehicle I'd ever owned before getting the Volvo that sits in front of it (a great car in a completely different way).
The Toyota was the most basic vehicle imaginable, with no frills whatsoever, such as air conditioning, power steering, a rear bumper, or a right-hand side rear-view mirror. It was also the most reliable vehicle imaginable, requiring only occasional oil changes and semi-annual replacement of the odd hose, filter, or spark plug to keep it running happily. It never ever let me down, unless you count the time I had to get the starter replaced, about 6 years ago.
I can't tell you how sorry I am to see it go but it had been sitting idly in our driveway in the year since we got the much more family-friendly Volvo. I have so many memories associated with that little truck, nearly all of them pleasant, that selling it was a surprisingly emotional experience. It is, I suppose, fitting, since when I bought it, I was a 21-year old with questionable prospects and an $8/hr. job, and seriously freaked out about making the $179/month payment on the thing. In retrospect, this little truck has been so easy to maintain, and so reliable, buying it was probably one of the best financial decisions I've ever made (the guy who bought it from me, for cheap, was looking for something with better gas mileage than his F-150).
I wish I had some better pictures of it. I was in a hurry the day I sold it and didn't get a chance to move it somewhere with more even light. Oh well, it was never about beauty, anyway.
