An article on Jalopnik.com this past week once again reminded us that in the USA and Canada we don't have a car based pickup. Mexico is full of them, but the automakers seem to have some reluctance to offer them to us. We didn't get this one, either.
This purplious 1950 GMC pickup was on display at the 2015 Ol' Marais River Run Car Show held in Ottawa Kansas.

The Stayner Lions Club was formed in 1955. For many years now, we have been holding a dance each July, at which we have given away a pickup truck. This year, to celebrate our 50th anniversary, the truck that will be given away in the draw will be this 1955 Dodge.
Tickets are $20 and include admission to the dance (1st 1,000 at the door will be admitted). If anyone out there is interested in getting in on the draw, please send me a message by Flickr mail, and I will see that it is passed on to the Lions Club.
Cheers
Seen in Kingston NY on Jan 22,1983 my 1977 Dodge pickup I bought in July 1980 and sold in March 1983 after repairing frontend damage and rust holes in the bed I never got to paint it because more rust kept coming through so I bought a used 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo and sold the truck.I was parked by the abandoned city hall front steps and some buildings of the Kingston hospital are behind my truck all these hospital buildings are now demolished and replaced by newer buildings and the city hall was restored in 1999-00 and reused for city hall again.
My local Walmart recently under went a slight remodel in adding new signage as well as a slight rearrangement in aisles for some departments. I figured I'd take some photos of all the new sights. Pictures of the old arrangements can be found in the same album.

Available 1974-1977, these small trucks were equipped with a 1.3 liter Wankel rotary engine and a 4- or 5-speed manual transmission.
Willys pickup truck, seen last month in Cocoa, Florida at the 3rd Annual Winterfest Open Car Show hosted by FlaCarShows.com
A very cool scale model of a Chevy "Advanced Design" 1950 Pickup truck rat rod. Complete with a Mexican blanket on the seat, rust and signage on the door. I didn't build this model, just took a photo of it.
This is a Datsun pickup one of the few portuguese designed and made cars. It's based one the Datsun 1200 and rather primitive. I found it not far away from were they were made. There was also a van model. How many still survive?
Ok, why is this white pickup special? It uses the new Lego one piece car base (See last picture). It comes with the LEGO Set Juniors 10735 (Box shown below). Mudguards and axles are combined in one piece. Lego did this with a 4 wide base a year or so, this is a 6 wide base. Also in this set is the pre-printed, not sticker, grill on a 2x4 tile.
