For the Macro Mondays theme 'Pick Two'. I chose two iridescent glass marbles and placed them in an old crystal glass on top of some sheets of coloured paper. Nauseating I admit but anyhow HMM!

PS Each marble is less than 1cm diam the glass base is 4cm

For Macro Mondays. This week’s theme: “Pick Two".

My Choice is "Speckled + Glass": frost crystals on the Cold Cellar Window.

Extreme cold warning for Southern Ontario Canada on Sunday as it was -25C and a wind chill values of -40 C.

Coke: it's the real thing. Nothing else compares. It is unquestionably King. Pepsi is cool, but only for when there's no Coca-Cola.

This week's Macro Mondays theme is to pick two, one from each list of:

A Colour: Red, blue, Yellow or pink

and

An item from: a flower, bottle cap, paper or pen.

Unless you've been in total lock down for the last 128 years or so you will recognise the red bottle cap I picked.

Thanks Basse for the box of a few thousand bottle tops you sent! Whatever it is it always tastes better out of a chilled glass bottle! Plastic? It's all so passe.

Only a single petal of a Winter rose

This busy Bumble Bee (aren't they all) is gathering pollen from a "pink flower" (wild rose) in our back garden.

You can see the pollen sack on this Bumble Bee's back leg. Bumbles on average will return home carrying an extra 25% of its body weight in pollen.

HMM everyone

For todays Macro Monday theme of pick two, I chose Pink and Flower. This is a macro of the center of a coneflower. It's about 3/4" wide in this pic. I loved that there's a few teeny white fuzzy things in there too. A nice surprise when I opened the pic in Lightroom. HMM :-)

Macro Monday Theme "Pick Two". My picks are "Red" and "Paper". Had some fun making a tiny paper pinwheel. Part of it came undone, but I thought it added to the composition.

Yellow and bottle cap. Time for a clean.

Many thanks for all views, fav's - and particularly comments - all are greatly appreciated!

Happy Macro Mondays to you all!

damaged chocolate candy, sat in a hot garage all summer, yuck - it was very expensive so of course I still tried it :-)

……’Pink’ & ‘Paper’ being the two I picked from the two lists for Macro Mondays theme ‘Pick Two’. I used Semolina as sand and a little frog measuring circa ½“ by 1” taking shade under the Pink Cocktail Parasol. HMM…..Alan:-)

Macro Mondays Pick Two (Fuzzy+Plant )

#Macro #MacroMondays #PickTwo #PinkFlower

There shall be bright morning after the dark times....

Pick two for macro mondays. My picks are damaged and plant.

For this weeks Macro Mondays theme 'Pick Two' I used the colour pink and the item flower to make this image. HMM

My cat's "fuzzy toy". HMM!

Two naturally white subjects, the white inchworm and the white flower on a chili plant for Smile on Saurday theme 'Natural White'.

A 'striped insect' for Macro Mondays theme 'Pick Two'.

Having spent several days playing around with other combinations for Pick Two (not overly happy with anything), I went into my greenhouse yesterday to do some watering and found this tiny caterpillar on one of my chili plants when I was checking for aphids. Moving the plant to a more photogenic location resulted in the caterpillar adopting this pose by standing on its prolegs at the posterior end and holding motionless long enough for a focus stack. I suspect this is a type of inchworm - larva of the Geometridae family of moths. I have seen inchworms perform this behaviour before in an attempt to fool a predator into thinking the inchworm is a small twig - but I have never seen a white one before, and it would have to be a pretty poor predator that would think this was a twig!

This was shot with a Raynox DCR-250 mounted on my macro lens, so it wasn't until I looked closely when processing that I realised the caterpillar had tiny stripes - theme sorted for this week!

The title was inspired by a 1965 recording by the McCoys: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcHqUGZ6leI

No caterpillars were harmed in the making of this photograph.

No it's not Superman's Kryptonite ... it's Selenite from S. Australia

These little bugs are so friendly, this one landed in front of me and didn't move the whole time I was photographing it. I picked Delicate Insect for today's theme.

Hot PINK brush PEN.

I picked Twisted and Glass... the wire is twisted and it goes through a tiny glass bead. This is around a small votive type scented candle... also glass.

Blue + bottle cap.

The bottle cap is 3.5 cm in diameter and is on some light blue card.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

Happy Macro Monday to all flickr friends, HMM

p.s. length of the white toy car is about 5cm

I wasn't sure at first if porcelain is classed as pottery, but thankfully it is. This tiny dish is raw, unglazed porcelain and was thrown by hand on a wheel. It's 1¼" in diameter and it's certainly a challenge to photograph! I found the feather and tiny white flower in the garden. Without them, you'd barely be able to see the main subject. :)

For this week's Macro Mondays group theme, Pick Two. This would fit either delicate or curved, but I'll go with delicate. My chosen words are, therefore, Delicate from List A and Pottery from List B.

Macro Mondays 'pick two' theme.

We were given two lists of four, had to pick one from each and make an image showing the combination.

Mine is 'yellow' and 'pen'.

This part of the pen measures 1.5"

For Macro Mondays: "Pick Two" theme

(This glass globe is 2" in diameter)

My two words are "Iridescent" and "Glass"

(But they could also be "Speckled" and "Abstract")

There were 25 possible combinations to choose from in this week's theme and I think there are some wonderfully creative photos presented. I hope group members have enjoyed this sort of "choose your own" theme.

"Chafer the Gaffer"

I'm the garden chafer,

the metallic green gaffer,

i'll buzz and spray,

so keep out my way,

i'll trample your pansies,

spoiling all your fancies,

i'm big, i'm green, seldom seen,

i'm chafer the gaffer know what I mean! 🐞

"Gaffer = Boss"

Metallic green rose chafer beetle, amid the blossoms, looking resplendent, they are considered a pest and can decimate flora, still they do look impressive like mini shining tanks.

They nibble pollen and sip nectar, but these little chaps

decimated my roses last year so they can definitely cause damage to the gardeners pride and joy!

A word of warning don't try grabbing them or you may get squirted, they have a nasty defence.

Of course they fly too buzzing about like small airborne tanks,

marvellous insects really, but the larvae are really ugly .... lets not go there! 😁

Metallic - Insect

This is going to be my choice for Macro Mondays this week I chose Metallic from the first five words and Insect from the second five words, hopefully concluding with ....

Metallic Insect

A green metallic beetle, a "Green Chafer Beetle."

About four months ago this plant was in great shape... Have I told you I adopted a cat?

I decided to try and create a scene out of just one piece of paper. The scene was looking a little flat until I decided to scrunch up the paper to create the rough ‘sea’. Please excuse the bad origami!

Just a little lightening and small saturation tweaks for processing.

First post with my new Samyang 75mm (with extension tubes).
