Solid silver and ivory fork coming from a set made in the 1850s. Always was in my Mom’s side of the family in Brittany. The fork is quite small, it is a dessert thing, or possibly used for small foodstuffs like snails or oysters.

Smoked trout with basil.

Single exposure with the Micro–Nikkor 85mm f/2.8 tilt–shift macro lens, tilted alongside the axis of the fork for increased depth of field.

Shot taken for my Macro Mondays group, “Fork” theme.

This is, once again, my favorite pre–Romanesque (or early Romanesque) chapel, built around Year 1000 and sitting obstinately on its hilltop since then, facing innumerable sunsets for over a millennium...

This time, I went precisely at sunset and chose to light the apse with a Phottix Indra500 studio strobe (monolight) high up on a light stand. There was some wind that evening, and I had to use a heavy sandbag to stabilize the stand, as I was also using a large octabox to soften the light, and it caught in the wind of course...

This is actually a self portrait of sorts. It's me. I set up the camera on tripod with the self timer set for several exposures. An SB-910 was behind me on a light stand with a Phottix Odin receiver attached. A CTO gel gave the flash color. Pre-focusing on a spot on the ground was key to my being sharp in this image. And yes, this was after a rain and it started again during the shoot.

This is a pin–sized Breton flag (less than 2 cm in length), and in the Breton language, “Breizh” is “Brittany”. Breizh, ma bro means “Brittany, my country”. Pinned on my caban, which is a short wool overcoat typical of Brittany, and which was originally designed for Navy officers to wear at sea.

So, there is my “Z”! Shot for my Macro Mondays group, theme “Zed”. Consider yourselves lucky I haven’t chosen to pull out an old ugly photo of Sean Connery as “Zed”, the main character in that unforgettable movie, Zardoz... ;o)

One of the first shots I took in November 2018 to test focus stacking my a new program, Helicon Focus. I had been using Zerene Stacker previously.

I don't remember exactly how I lit this. The bulb was placed on an Artograph Lightpad930 light table, and of course Phottix Pro Indra500s were involved, but I really can't say much more...

These first two photos, taken in November 2019, are the first I re–upload from 2019. All subsequent ones for a while will also be from that year, until I reach 2020, then 2021. I will need to keep the pace of 10 pictures per day until I finish catching up with current work, thank you very much in advance for bearing with me. I know it’s too many photos each day, however I do not have a choice...
