This is a side-by-side comparison of a closeup of a dark region in the background of the pumpkin picture in my image stacking test. The left half is from the first of 17 original source images. The right half is the stacking of the 17 pictures into one greatly noise-reduced image. The image seems to be blurrier, as though run through Photoshop's "Smart Blur" filter, but really, it's just less noisy. The detail isn't lost, as is evident in the next image. In fact, the detail is better preserved.
Another shot in my yard of a geranium recently planted around our deck. I wanted to experiment some more with photostacking - this is a composite of four shots combined using Helicon focus. taken using a tripod and fill-in reflected lighting, but the wind caused a little image ghosting.

So I took an 8 image photostack just as some weird HDR experiment and It showed up some really cool, trippy colours on the tunnel walls. I just... couldn't resist adding a bit of a wave to enhance that sort of vibe...
Found this guy in the garden and thought I would try photo stacking. Took 17 images in the end. Hope it turned out ok.
