For the BIG signature;) Since this is a documentation photo. And I noticed that no photos of the after flood is around (newspapers, news, internet). I know for sure they will take this photo and put it as their own. Went threw that once. So sorry for that ugly address thing in the middle.
Today; 09.09.09...
I was thinking to take a photo for today..
But a big flood happened in Istanbul.
This is the first worst flood here for a very very long time.
Like a first in the last 100 years.
It rained six times more rain in two days than usual for an entire month.
These photos are a 5 min. walk away from my house. The flood happened this morning at 07.00am. I couldn't go because of the hard rain. And didn't want a wet machine:)
It's on the E-5 (highway) - Basin Express Highway; going to the Ataturk Airport.
26 people died going to work and the airport.
It was higher than my head.
Factories is up the road, so all kinds of stuff came by; coca-cola's, drinks, refrigerators, medications, china dishes and cups...etc.
I will put some photos, and news links for more information.
At least watch this VIDEO This VIDEO and this VIDEO to understand.
PS: Yes my friends, we are O.K. Thank you all very much!

221 "comments" have been erased.
Because;
-Invites without comments
-Award codes without comments
-And because of these I couldn't read the REAL comments in all that clutter,
especially due to the Flickrs New Page.
16 pages... Of empty awards?
No thank you.
And I hug every one who did write something,
really it made me happy to see so much..

Hong Kong’s traditional Lunar New Year flower markets opened on Saturday for the festive period amid stringent coronavirus crowd-control measures.
Authorities have installed infrared sensors at the entrances and exits of each area to keep track of the number of people inside, to guard against Covid-19 infection risks at the city’s 15 major flower markets.
The measures are in line with the administration’s latest target to reduce daily coronavirus cases to fewer than a dozen by Lunar New Year towards the end of next week, in a bid for an economic revival.
An alert system on television, radio and the internet based on traffic light signals is being used to indicate crowd capacities at the flower markets. A red alert will be issued when capacity has been exceeded.

I loved this little two seater "sport craft" that was corraled with the ultra-lights. You can tell by the huge balloon tires and wing length flaps this little rascal can take off and land on a postage stamp. It would be fun to fly to those of us who had the pleasure of flying the slightly larger J3 and slow-flying over the countryside at a stately 60 mph . . . top speed was 85+.
I'm sure this little fellow could probably cruise along at 40-50, giving you time for a nice through view of the scenery below.

Friends/relatives who could not be there say their final farewells to Mum on my brother's mobile phone, in her last hours as she lay dying.

Part of a photo-documentary series on my mother's death. It's not a subject oft explored, nor talked about - all the more reason, I figured, to cover it - plus it was an outlet to explore my own emotions and grief..... even at the time I clicked. We're all going to die one day. However, we British (generally) do everything we can to avoid talking or thinking about it ...

The Qingming festival, also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day in English (sometimes also called Chinese Memorial Day or Ancestors' Day),is a traditional Chinese festival observed by the Han Chinese of mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and by the Chitty of Malaysia and Singapore. It falls on the first day of the fifth solar term of the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar. This makes it the 15th day after the Spring Equinox, either 4, 5 or 6 April in a given year. During Qingming, Chinese families visit the tombs of their ancestors to clean the gravesites, pray to their ancestors and make ritual offerings. Offerings would typically include traditional food dishes and the burning of joss sticks and joss paper. The holiday recognizes the traditional reverence of one's ancestors in Chinese culture.

The government announced on Wednesday that it had temporarily stopped administering BioNTech coronavirus vaccines due to "packaging problems" in one of the batches of supplies.
A statement said that although the drugmaker did not find any safety risks associated with problems with the caps on the vials, the use of the jabs was being suspended pending an investigation.
The government said people who had made booking for the jabs should not go to vaccination centres until further notice.
Earlier, Macau also suspended its BioNTech vaccination programme citing packaging concerns.
"Vaccinations with the concerned products must be suspended," Macau's government said in a statement.
