September 21st – To celebrate their 18th anniversary, Phillips had a field day brewing a beer with 18 different grains to toast each year. All of these grains are outstanding in their field and threshed to impress even the most cereal polygamist. They are then balanced with 6 Northwest hop varietals, leading to a full, hop-forward silo-doscope of flavour. Taste the Grainbow!

New to Western Scottish

This former Scottish Bus Group Seddon was an unusual choice of vehicle for a Welsh independent. It had been operated by P&O Lloyd at Bagillt but in 1992 moved a few miles down the road to the equally long-established Phillips fleet. It would later join two more from the same batch with D.P. Owens of Rhiwlas.

Phillip was passing by right after I photographed Rebecca. I found this great archway path that I should have had Rebecca stand in, but luckily Phillip was wiling to pose for a quick shot. I was too busy thinking about if he would say yes or no to ask anything about him.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon on display at Shaw Air Force was originally assigned the serial number 79-0309. When it was placed on display the aircraft was painted as 93-0534 as a memorial to Major Brison Phillips who was killed in a crash of 93-0534 on March 19, 2000.

The Mattel Doll is the best looking in my opinion, even if he is slightly Ken-ish. His costume looks nice even if it has a playline look and doesn't have the colors of the film. However, it likes kinda cheap and crappy on other dolls.

The current 2014 DS Phillip is alright looking but he doesn't look like Phillip, even though he has a lot of his characteristics. He's kind of thick in the head (har har) and not as angular. His costume, while not perfect, is the best representation of how it looks in the film.

The older 2008 DS doll, is great for articulation, and like the current one, he looks alright and has a lot of Phillip's characteristics, but he just doesn't quite scream Phillip, I think maybe he's a bit to cartoony. His outfit isn't very well sewn, but his articulation makes up for it.

Walking around with Urban Scott on Sunday This is Phillip, a bouncer from a London bar, it was a very brief encounter as he walked past the London Palladium. It was one of those mornings when I just couldn't get everything working together, and with encouragement from Pete was trying fully manual settings, which I must admit I have been meaning to use for ages, but stepping that little bit outside my Aperture priority comfort zone meant that so many other areas such as actual communication with Phillip were completely overlooked. I came away with a couple of shots of Phillip but must confess to being disappointed with them even though I panicked after the first few shots and reverted back to AP.

I should really thank Phillip here both for his patience and kindness in stopping in the first place.

Closer look at the finished cape I made for Snow White.

Originally meant for Phillip, but I had blue material laying around and didn't want to let it waste, so what the heck it became Snow Whites cape.

John Phillips of Rhoscolyn, Anglesey ran this ERF tractor unit, originally painted in his brown and red colours it was later repainted in Gwynedd Shipping livery. Photo taken at my home village of Llanrhuddlad on 04/06/99

The Museum of Fine Art in St. Petersburg had an exhibit of the photographs of Aaron Siskind. There were 37 black and white images of Harlem living in the 1930s and 40s. Very interesting. Equally interesting was one of the docents at the museum check-in and information desk.

I seldom photograph strangers indoors, partly because the light is often funky. But I loved Phillip's hair, and told him so. He laughed and seemed just a little embarrassed, but when I explained 100 Strangers he was VERY interested. He asked if I was familiar with Humans of New York (HONY), and I said, “Oh yeah...” I told him how impressed I was by some of the information that people gave out.

So I said, “OK Phillip, what interesting fact about you can you tell me?”

“I work at the Salvador Dali Museum too.”

“Wow, Phillip, that's really really wild stuff!” We both laughed.

Thank you, Phillip, for allowing me to photograph you for the 100 Strangers Flickr group.
