Phillips Brooks was rector of Trinity Church in Boston. This statue is outside the church of whose design and construction he was a principal force. While the statue commemorates his distinguished career as a clergyman, local wags wonder if perhaps it shows he was really transmitting the inspiration a #Jedi master.

Dags are so tricky to photograph satisfactorily.

He looks around thirty? So this, if the biographical note is correct, would be 1880s - late for a daguerreotype?

No luck tracing this chap yet.
