I always loved Joy Division and following Ian Curtis' tragic death I thought New Order were just as good. My daughter has inherited this liking and we both went to see the bassist, Peter Hook talking about his life in the bands, about Ian Curtis and lots about the Hacienda, you could walk amongst all sorts of memorabilia and I liked this juxtaposition of the guitar and the picture of Ian Curtis

Peter Hook, founding member of Joy Division and New Order is likely the reason I picked up the bass guitar when I was a teenager. That sound, his sound, there is nothing like it. And tonight, after nearly 40 years of listening to his albums, I finally got to see him play the songs that have been etched into my heart all these years. Pure joy, no division.

FAC 203, "Twelve Inches of New Order" was Factory promotional gift ruler issued in August 1987.
It listed the 12 New Order 12-inch singles from FACT 200 (Substance).
The ruler is actually 13 inches long; an extra 1/2 inch on either end. It was rumoured to be an edition of just 60 "samples" (for an intended run of 1000 to be integrated with the gatefold edition of "Substance"), but I think many more were actually made - I had three at one point!

“Strange as it may sound, it wasn't until after his death that we really listened to Ian's lyrics and clearly heard the inner turmoil in them."
