Day 130
This is the second time I've found a quadrillium. I wonder if it's lucky like a 4 leaf clover.

The reason I keep going to photographer gatherings is because there is nothing that makes me feel as alive as being surrounded by other artists. You bitch about art together, you listen to siren songs and bleed and dance and in ungodly hours you can almost hear the creativity as buzzing in the air.
A pretty shrub rose from the garden, still going strong :)
Thanks for the lovely comments and favs on yesterday's rose shot :)
I got a Gerber Daisy potted plant a few years ago and promptly began to neglect it. My mother rescued it and has kept it alive. It's blooming now and has a row of yellow petals in between rows of pink petals. The natural lines that occur in flowers fascinate me. It's so pretty!
The Rose is perhaps my favourite flower. That may not be entirely true: my favourite tends to be whatever flower I happen to be looking at at the time :)
This was taken in the village last month. I thought we could have a change from wobblies so I rooted something for Flower Friday.
A bit of magic, of course, in the processing, but only a little. I’ve also created a brown-toned mono version too - I tend to prefer these because they emphasise the structure and shapes, and they look a little different. Feel free to choose your own favourite though!
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Friday, happy flowers, happy weekend :)
Another early morning shot, I really like the wash of color across the delicate petals. This is a new variety of ivy geranium called Merlot which has decorated the planters on our deck this summer.

This is Enchanted Petal, for the theme "Petal" in the Blythe a Day group. She's wearing part of her stock outfit (I made the headband.) Her medium-length green hair is really beautiful; it's the thing that made me need her.
one hundred pesos ($2) for the whole sack?! i said with joyful disbelief.
one whole sack of petals from the makeshift side-of-the-road flower lady.
what a steal!
as one of the two matrons of honor together with my other sister
i was there to make sure the flowers for the offertory were pretty and presentable
the flower girls' baskets pretty and full
and the delivery pretty swift and precise
she specified white and only white petals for the baskets
and the bouquet that was to be brought to the altar
had to have orangey-browns(?!) and white flowers.
no easy pinks, no fast reds, no common yellows.
orangey-brown and whites.
what do i know about flowers?
not much, to be honest with you.
don't get me wrong, i love flowers.
i'm just not particular about what color, shape and size they are
a flower is a flower is a flower.
i'm easy like that.
but that's just me.
i was lucky enough to find it: the coveted orangey-brown african mums, they were called. the whites were easy enough.
and that night, after all the hoopla of the reception was over
all the oysters slurped out of their half shells
all the tears dried on soft Kleenexes
all the non-family guests thanked and walked to the door
and the older family members happy-tired in their suites
we watched and cheered as patrick carried joey across the threshold and into married life.
the country inn's staff had pretty petals scattered all over the honeymoon suite
candles lit all over the bedroom, in the bathroom and around the jacuzzi, the atmosphere just perfect for the newly-weds first night together as mr. and mrs.
and all i could think of as i looked dreamily into the whole scene as we said goodnight with a wink-wink to the couple was ~
tsk.tsk. they should have scattered orangey-browns and white petals instead of those reds and pinks.
:-p

After all the years I have photographed flowers, and especially Tulips.
Started to read them.
Saw their emotions.
With my imagination easy peasy.
I even seem to humanise some!
They can be sad, happy, surprised... you name it, just like people.
Please, forgive the artist in me and just enjoy with a smile? LOLOLOL.
Have a wonderful day, filled with love and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)

I was given a bunch of flowers from my son and his family when they visited recently. As per usual I took photos of them to have them forever.
Week #39 (w/b 05 April) Flowers - It’s Springtime and Autumn in the northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere respectively and hopefully those lovely spring and autumn flowers will not be past their best blooms. If not it’s time to go and purchase a lovely bouquet for our loved ones
