NEWPORT, RI – U.S. Naval War College (NWC) hosts its 9th annual Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Symposium, 26 – 28 April 2023. This year’s theme “WPS in a Fragile World: Perspectives on Warfighting, Crisis Management, and Post-Conflict Transitions” brought together U.S. and international scholars, researchers, civilian and military practitioners, and leaders to share their knowledge centered around the gender perspective. Established in 1884, U.S. Naval War College (NWC) informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage. Sophie Kirkpatrick in Paris says: Was trying to take the worst Eiffel tower pictures, those perspectives ones they people always get wrong or focusing on bins and public toilet signs rather than the Eiffel tower.

The fact that we live in a deep gravity well in a gas covered planet which goes around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and it still feels like another Tuesday proves the significance of perspective in our lives.
We believe that a right perspective can change our lives. TEDxGCEK, the youngest member of TED community plans to represent the same. TEDx speakers compel us to initiate, innovate and improvise the lives of people in ways that we never even knew existed.
Instead of searching for new ideas and inspiration one can simply look at things with different angles.TEDxGCEK aims to bring people from a different perspective to help change each others’ way of looking at the world.
Had a good talk today. Put things into perspective. Things haven't changed in my life but I am going to experiment with looking at some things through a new lens.
These pillars hold up one of the nearby piers. I found that going in close enough to omit the pier above and the sea below gave a confusing, disorienting effect.

We had some lovely clouds today. I've also invented SQT™ Super Quick Tip, a way to summarize other people's Photoshop tutorials to get a certain effect. I call this one LAB exposure and soft light. The SQT is:
.
Duplicate layer - Apple-J, Screen 85% (skipped for this particular image)
Convert to LAB mode
Duplicate layer - Apple-J, Apply image, LAB channel soft light 85%
A look down a set of railroad tracks where they cross Highway 313, just off the main road (U.S. Highway 191) leading to Moab, Utah and Interstate 70 (south and north, respectively).

A stellar lightning storm brought a cooling rain to our area early this morning. So, thankfully, all day it stayed cool and drizzly until shortly before the Moment arrived and the sun popped out. When my alarm went off I stepped outside and was instantly caught by the notion of how many times during the day I pass through my front door, but rarely embrace it's own unique and unchanging perspective.
