This clever little goat realised that standing on its hind legs and pulling the branch down with its front hooves was the best way to reach the leaves at the top.

March 22, 081/365- . . . is this little group of Magnolias that keep coming back. That is the base of a huge Live Oak right next to them. I have cut them back several times since they have no chance of ever growing there, but they keep coming back. It's another sign of spring when you look at the top of these and see the new leaves coming out.
Salvador Dali
Spanish, 1904-1989
"The Persistence of Memory" 1931
Oil on canvas
Dali rendered his fantastic visions with meticulous verisimilitude, giving the representations of dreams a tangible and credible appearance. In what he called "hand painted dream photographs," hard objects become inexplicably limp, time bends, and metal attracts ants like rotting flesh. The monstrous creature draped across the painting's center resembles the artist's own face in profile; its long eyelashes seem insectlike or even sexual, as does what may or may not be a tongue oozing from its nose like a fat snail.
The poor daffodils were growing nicely before the big dump of snow last Saturday. Amazing how they can keep on growing after being buried in snow all week.
Art Sheffield Ambassadors and their guests were invited to Persistence Works, home of Yorkshire ArtSpace, for complimentary drinks and 'behind-the-scenes' access to artists and their studios. Inside Lois William's studio. (All artwork and images of the artwork are copyright of the artist)
"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
-- Calvin Coolidge
Life is like a Rubik's cube. Difficult at first, but with constant practice and determination it gets better.

A scan across an unnamed gas giant's upper layers--made me think of watching the Shoemaker/Levy impact on Jupiter, and wonder how many times that must happen across the rest of the galactic arm.

I noticed this fishing vessel passing just offshore, heading south out of Narragansett Bay presumably to go catch my dinner. This is the F/V Persistence, a fishing trawler based in Kingstown, just up the bay. Sometimes I can find a lot about a boat on the internet, but I can't find much about the Persistence. It looks like it'd be a boat on the Deadliest Catch, if they did trawlers instead of crab boats.
