Ein Hod, Haifa, Bat El Shmueli, an Ethiopian woman who has been here for 18 years and currently works closely with the new Ethiopian community as a supervisor of the organization Ethiopian National Project, in Haifa. She strives to build bridges between the Israeli and Ethiopian culture. She lives with her husband, a famous Israeli Sepahardic artist, in Ein Hod with their two children and her niece who was orphaned in Ethiopia. She has an incredible story of perserverence from her home in Ethiopia coming to Israel and being separated fro her family when sent to boarding school, finding a mentor who helped her believe in herself, went through the army in a high up position and finally realizing how rich her Ethiopian culture is and wanting to impart that to all the new immigrants. Gave the info to Michele hopefully she interviewed her.

This flower, growing up out of a small crack in the asphalt at work, helped convey a needed message at a time of trials in my life.

my patience and perserverence is, for once, paying off. T now loves doing yoga and wants to practice frequently. i've been introducing a new pose every week, and suggesting we try it every day after he does workbook (we have the pose card as the last page). he especially likes the standing poses.

I have to call each day and hold for an hour or so in order to procure financing for my last five classes in college. I could get a JOB, but tuition is due in 8 days. The good news is that perserverence pays off and I get to talk to a live person after I hold for an hour. It's working!

I'm great on the phone. I've telemarketed before so am fearless about calling anyone/anywhere. (And no, people I don't or do know- I am NOT asking you for money). I would NEVER!!!! I'll get it from THE MAN.

It shall be given a black border and cheesy saying, post haste!

16 November 2008 - Showing the detailed tiling, so typical of small pubs in the early 20th centrury. Now a Gales pub. Brickwoods was a Portsmouth brewery that was taken over by Gales several years ago but it is good that their name in mosaic has been preserved

Superb looking classic old pub.

I was stunned that the pub didn't serve real ale.

Part of the Chickahominy Water Trail Festival, the race helped commemorate the opening of the Chickahominy Water Trail, the latest addition to the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. This is the collage and decoupage project I completed earlier in the week, a heart-shaped box covered with designs made from printed metallic ribbon. This photo shows a view of the back (underside) of the box. It is actually my favorite part, but least likely to be seen. I will miss working on this project. This project has taken much longer than I thought, so it has been an exercise in patience and perserverence. It has also been a kind of meditation on the possibility of creating something one small choice, one small action at a time. But that's true of all art projects, and it is time to move on to the next one.

Perseverance Quotes Collection by BrainQuotes

This life is but a phantom. It rolls and turns until there is no more, until the very life within us has become nothing but a memory. Time moves, invisible. It does not stand and wait for achievements to be made, for personal desires to unfold; it is life's relative. Hand in hand they work, their conclusions are mysterious yet inevitable. So what can we do? Stop the sureness of life's end? No. This pantom will not wait. This darkness cannot be stopped. The darkness that takes those who shine away. Those lights that bring beauty into a world of fear, evil, and devastation. Sunsets to those that need love at their wits end; sunrises to those who can't go through the day without love's warmth. But there is assurance far beyond these substantial beings, the phantom of time, of life, there is a God who takes away all dispair, doubt, and worry. One who gives and takes away. One who longs to take the heartbreak away. The prince of this world trembles in His presense for it is He, our God, who saves the lost, brings life to the spiritually dead, and brings comfort to the weary. So do not cry when He takes away what is beautiful, what may inspire and what brings joy, for life and time itself could not handle this beauty . For She has entered her Father's World, leaving the ways of this world behind. So, I will rest, entertwined in His comforting arms, for I am content with knowing that there is hope, there is life, and even when my eyes are clouded over, when I cannot see what lies before, I will remember what awaits - what you spent your life preparing for.For this life is but a test, a chance to shine God's light. And you, Andrea Cherish Nicole Steegstra, shined with the brightest of colors. You lived out God's purpose and now, you are in His arms. So what awaits us who are left behind, those who follow the same God you followed? We will continue running with perserverence to save the lost. For you ran wholeheartedly and won so many for Christ. You lived for his glory, and in His Truth.

Thank you for running Cherish.

There is a track of sorts in Open Access Land, running from the summit of Bunster northwards. It peters out somewhere above Jacob's Ladder , although with perserverence it may be possible to get to Air Cottage.

A still shot from acclaimed director Dan Katzir's new film: "Yiddish Theater: A Love story", about the struggle to keep Yiddish Theater alive into the twenty first century. The film not only has interviews with many leading experts, scholars, actors and fans but also has the last production of legendary Yiddish Diva Zypora Spaisman, in the picture, the woman who had kept Yiddish Theater alive in NYC for several decades thanks to her perserverence to make sure the Folksbienne, today the National Yiddish Theater, survives.

I walk around this tree every morning on my way to work. Even when it's muddy, I still have to smile a little as it seems to symbolize a little bit of nature's ability to survive in the face of all man has to throw at her. In the end, she'll win anyways.

As you can see, things are going terribly downhill with the 365 (now a 363). Still, there is something to be said for perserverence.

A close-up of my knitting. I prefer to call this style "rustic" rather than "wonky beginner".

Many thanks goes to Meg from our Craftea Chat nights (and later that night, my dear mum who finished the job Meg had started) who had enough sheer perserverence to stick with me until I learnt.

I'm a knitting un-co.
