A Perrier bottle dating from 1903-1948. In 1906, St. John Harmsworth named the spring after Dr Perrier and the company became known as the Compagnie de la Source Perrier.
The Brinson Perry residence is one of the oldest private homes built in the vicinity of Oxford Florida. The house was constructed by Hampton Brinson between 1885 and 1891 on what was then the main street of Oxford. During that time, Oxford was primarily an agricultural community with a post office, City Hall, its own newspaper, crate mill, and a small commercial district. The house was home to Hampton Brinson and his wife, Charlotte, until she passed away in the early 1900s. Hampton Brinson continued to live in the home until his passing in 1917. The home passed through a succession of hands until being purchased by George Perry in the 1920s Through the many years of his family’s ownership, Mr. Perry made many improvements to property, including adding front and rear porches to the house and the addition of several outbuildings. These include the barn, garage, and a small building used as servant quarters that was eventually converted to use as a tool shed. The Perry family lived in or owned the home and land until its sale in 2002 to preserve the home from destruction it was moved from its original site to its current location, in The Villages, in March 2004.
