Perhaps the biggest 1940s re-enactment show in the country. |Complete with a temporary airfield for the duration of the show, various aircraft can land and take off, and fly over the showground for air displays. Attending will be thousands of re-enactors from all theatre's of war, allies and axis , living history groups will displaying in adjacent fields . Add that to the hundreds of military vehicles attending .
The system is out of order more than it's working. Most patients ignore it even when it's operating. I wonder how much was spent on consultation, design, development, installation and training to save a few quid on staff costs.

There are more love songs than anything else. If songs could make you do something we'd all love one another.

I found this on a dead tree trunk around some pine trees. (I think.) My other theory is "tjærekjuke".- I just don't know. I'll keep looking here soon!

Everyone is so good nowadays!
Ah well, this was fun anyway.

Perhaps the trickiest stretch of the whole trip: navigating the foot and motor traffic that swarms Dolores Park, Bi-Rite Grocery, Bi-Rite Creamery, Delfina Pizza, and Tartine. I'd rather take on Smith Fire Road any day of the week.

Rainier is an almost other-worldly location. The Sunrise Visitor Center area is only open July through early October; plan your visit accordingly. Go slow: it's only about a half a mile up a well-groomed, fairly easy trail, but we're at altitude here - 6400' for the Visitor center, and we're another 325' up from there. Bring water and layers, at a bare minimum. Take the Sunrise Nature trail loop, backward (up the steps to the left instead of the slope to the right); at the top intersection, go left on Huckleberry towards Frozen Lake/Forest Lake, instead of continuing the loop to the right. It won't be too far, and there is no marker for this lovely spot on the trail... perhaps you'll just feel it's the right spot, as I did.
