Perhaps a new spirit is rising among us. If it is, let us trace its movement, and pray that our own inner being may be sensitive to its guidance. For we are deeply in need of a new way beyond the darkness that seems so close around us. -- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Riverside Church, April 4, 1967 transcript and audio

Perhaps Chedworth is best known for it's Roman villa hidden at the end of a wooded valley a short distance from the village. Chedworth is a linear settlement which follows a steep sided valley for several miles, the small cottages that make up the majority of the buildings are masked amongst the trees and lost from sight by the rise and fall of the land. Perhaps the centre of the village is it's beginning, the group of houses that cluster below the church, which is cut into the steep valley side above. All is quiet and calm, paddocks with sheep, chickens, a pair of donkeys and even llamas line the road. The church is an early foundation, parts of the present structure dating to the late Norman period, most notably the tower. However it is the beauty of the setting, looking out over the valley below and the dramatic wall of Perpendicular windows that make up the south facade that add such beauty to this remote church. The south wall is also remarkable for a series of inscriptions from the late 15th century which include dates written in Arabic numerals. This early use of a system of notation which would revolutionize mathematical calculation is perhaps the product of the international connections of local wool merchants. Chedworth was once a busier place, the remains of a disused railway run through the village and indeed through a substantial tunnel nearby and a Wartime air field can be seen in the fields beyond.

Yesterday, my buds Nathaniel came over and brought his adorable little Sebastian and Yoko Nendoroids with him! I busted out with my L Nendoroid, and then we had a party (much the the dismay and discomfort of the poor Nendoroids). But hey, no hard feelings. And we all had a blast!!! :D

This unique journey bag evokes images of elves and forest splendor at dusk. Perhaps Princess Eloria will grant you a favor if you return it? Or maybe she will gift it to you filled with elven waybread to speed you on your journey?,b
Eloria features one of a kind hand-painted fabric from Mollie over at Monkey Shine Design. www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5545587
Mollie's fabric had the look of branches.. which I enhanced with rayon quilting over the body of the bag. The flap and handles are commercial batiks. The center flap is handdyed. The large glass beads are from local Las Vegas glass blower Trev at Geosoul Arts. The smaller findings are commercial.
Due to the hand painted and hand dyed nature of this bag, not only is it one of a kind, but requires special care. Wash by HAND only in COLD. Hang to dry.
The bag measures 9" x 9 3/4". Velcro closure hidden under the flap. Inside is lined in a commercial teal print with a pocket.

A hypothesis was raised by an aquaiintance of mine, regarding the possible synthetic origin of the diamond paste I tested.
Please note! My tests were ran at room temperature.
Natural diamonds usually have sharpish PL (=Photoluminescence) peaks close to the main diamond Raman peak.
Also, in HPHT origin or HPHT-treated diamonds, there is often a strong peak around 637nm or 3110 cm-1-
I leave the matter to professionals to decide this case...

Taken at Hounslow Nature reserve while on an evening walk. Sony Xperia Z2 magic, if you ask me. I wanted to capture sunset scenes in the park known for its landscape and plant diversity.

Perhaps the jay thinks that if he keeps his back to me, I won't be able to see him. Personally, I found his back to be quite interesting! The colors and patterns on his back feathers are really lovely.
