This is a closeup of a small perfume vial in my wife's collection. For Macro Mondays theme "Glass". Image is slightly ove an inch wide (it's a small bottle).

Macro Mondays theme: Bottle(s)

Here is the top portion of an Egyptian perfume bottle. These bottles are so beautiful and fragile. Ancient Egyptians were the first to make them thousands of years ago to keep precious scented oils.

I took this picture at my kitchen window in the early afternoon. A mist of water created some tiny droplets on the surface of the bottle to add texture and to make it more appealing. The whole bottle is 3 ½” tall and the upper portion shown in my picture is 1 ½”.

Somehow these little stones, which have such a strong scent when you purchase them, never seem quite the same again, however much you drench them with beautiful perfume.

Cameras these days can do really magical things, but they can't yet reproduce the amazing perfume of the water hawthorn blooming on this pond. If I was a Canada Goose I'd love to swin amongst the blossom too.

all the lilies look so beautiful when they first open. the flower is long lasting as is the perfume lingering in the garden

lilies that i planted in pots have flourished but most of those planted in the garden soil were eaten by slugs. thankfully this lily was one of the exceptions. next year all the lily bulbs will be in pots

A very nice and helpful girl at the beauty counter let me loose with my camera for this challenge! I had no idea how expensive they were, just knew I liked the shapes and colours.

This is one of three perfume bottles I bought at the Khan Al-Khalili (or Khan El-Khalili) in Cairo - one of the biggest souks or bazaars I've ever been to. Everywhere you turned there were shops and stalls selling absolutely everything - all the colours and smells were dazzling. And many traders offered tea while you contemplated your potential purchase.
