Students from Kolmar Elementary School stopped by to sing Christmas songs for the residents. The first group, grades 1-3, arrived after breakfast and delighted the residents with such children's classics as Rudolph, Frosty the Snow Man and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. After lunch, a group of 4th and 5th graders stopped by a sang some classic carols around the giant tree in the great room. The residents always enjoy visits from the students. As the children left to return to the school, residents handed out candy canes to each of them.

Born into a family of musicians in Arkansas on October 18, 1979, Shaffer C. Smith, aka Ne-Yo, was a youngster when his mother relocated to Las Vegas in hopes of a better life. A natural-born storyteller, Ne-Yo cited Prince, Marvin Gaye, the Rat Pack, and Stevie Wonder in his list of favorite entertainers.

The big break took place in 2004, when R&B singer-actor Mario scored a left-field #1 hit with “Let Me Love You,” which Ne-Yo co-wrote with the track’s producer Scott Storch. The song stayed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks, and became (at the time) the most-played song in radio history, with 189.5 million audience in its peak week. It finished out 2004 as the #1 most-played song of the year at radio, and also became one of the top-selling ringtone downloads of all time.

Behind the scenes with the cast and crew of Snow White, our holiday musical comedy, which we performed from December 22 to 30, 2017 at the Throckmorton Theatre in Mill Valley.

Our version of Snow White turns the classic fairy tale into a mirror to reflect our modern times, mixing witty dialogue with political commentary, toe-tapping song and dance, performed by players of all ages and backgrounds. Our holiday panto invited the audience to play an active role in the show, and they booed the villains, cheered the heroes and sang along with us.

Community theater is good for the soul, whether you’re an actor or in the audience. This play was a truly cathartic experience, which invited us all to let out our feelings in the theater's sacred space and join our hearts together.

Kudos to our wonderful director Nicole Helfer, producer Amy Marie Haven, playwright Tyler Null, music director Ed Bogas, set designer Steve Coleman, choreographer June Cooperman, costume designer Charlene Lundgren Frischer, sound designer Edwin De Shazo and the Throckmorton's visionary director Lucy Mercer, to name but a few.

I'm grateful to you all and to our amazing cast and crew for this opportunity to grow as an artist. I hope to work again with these talented group to create more community theatre.

Motivation plays an important role in the grooming of students. Motivation energizes, directs and sustains behavior of the students. Simultaneously motivation involves goals & activities that develop key skills in the students to set up goals and plan actions to achieve them. As a mean of encouragement, Mr. Pervaiz Lodhie founder and president of “ LEDtronics Inc.” and “Shaan Technologies Private Limited” visited the “Rukhsana Foundation Welfare School on March 3, 2016 and distributed Solar Powered Lanterns to 18 best performing students in 3 categories i.e.

Best performance in studies

Best attendance and

Best class participation

Aim of this activity is to motivate students to perform better as well as to create a positive competition among the student to achieve better results. During the event Solar lanterns were distributed only to the selected students. Later Pervaiz Lodhie offered the same lanterns to 30 teachers and staff members as a token of appreciation for running one of the best elementary schools in the town.

Mrs. Rukhsana Mushtaq Tahirkheli, Chairperson of Rukhsana Foundation started this elementary school in January 2008 for the underprivileged children whose families could not afford to educate them. Besides education all school supplies and facilities are provided to students free of cost. Many of these children collect garbage in order to supplement their parents’ income, and one of our goals is to provide them with basic skills and crafts that can qualify them to work and earn money in a safe and healthy way.The school not only provides a basic, elementary level of education to the children, but also teaches them basic social skills and manners so that they get prepared to compete in the real world. These skills include general personal hygiene, prevention of basic illnesses and Moral Sciences. Essential medical check-ups and vaccination is also provided to all students, free of charge.

"The hour glass" was the name of a small play by "A PART " from Poland. It was the torment of a woman that was assaulted by a man, or men, meat threatened by meat, meat coming from other meat, live flesh that is gettin exposed bit by bit to the world, in the most undiginified of manners. IS there a soul left in her, or just meat, caressed by other meat...

The Performing for the Camera project, dedicated to the students of the art academies of Florence (Italian and international), comes from the idea of using the Marina Abramović exhibition. The Cleaner (21 September 2018-20 January 2019) as a research ground on the relationship between photography and performance, offering students the opportunity to try their hand at producing new works of art and publishing a publication.

The activity, which will have a three-month development, will allow students to approach the close link between performance and photography by analyzing the relationships and specificities of the two artistic languages. Among the events at Palazzo Strozzi are also scheduled two talks with the artists Francesca Banchelli and Caterina Pecchioli to encourage a direct confrontation with two professionals whose practice is related to the subject matter.

The theme will offer students an overview of photography used as a tool for performance documentation, or practiced as a performative act in itself, to be interpreted and applied in the field of artistic research. In the second phase of the project the works created by the students will become the material for the realization of a publication edited by the students themselves.

The project is carried out in collaboration with:

Made up of five young lads—Jay McGuinness, Max George, Nathan Sykes , Siva Kaneswaran and Tom Parker—The Wanted are already rivaling some of the biggest music acts around today. So what is it about this band that has grabbed the nation’s attention? “Most boybands have very similar sounds,” explains Nathan. “We wanted to make ours different – not just from other groups, but each song unique too.” And combine that great music style with humble backgrounds and a down-to-earth approach and you can immediately see why people adore them.
