Chris after his set. She said he had a gorgeous voice. I'm trying to like this 50 1.8 but I'm not in love with it. I feel like I get better images from my 40mm pancake. I may move up & get 1.4.
The Avison Ensemble performs music by Charles Avison in the Charles Avison Building, Newcastle City Library.
As part of this year’s Newcastle and Gateshead Late Shows 2018 we explored Charles Avison’s music manuscript Workbooks through drop-in showcase performances. One of Avison's Workbooks was on display throughout the performances allowing the audience to explore Newcastle’s musical heritage for themselves while they listened to the music being performed. We also performed music by Handel and a rare flute concerto by Vivaldi, and also a cello concerto by Avison’s contemporary Durham’s John Garth.
We also ran introductions to the Charles Avison exhibition that is on display on Level 6 of City Library until 31st July 2018. This exhibition explores and celebrates Avison’s life and career and his importance to Newcastle’s heritage and the history of British music. Avison’s Workbooks and first editions of his scores are on display.
Autograph manuscripts by Avison were practically unknown until the Avison Ensemble acquired his two autograph music Workbooks in 2000/2002. The Workbooks provide a rare glimpse into how Avison and other 18th century composers devised their music, as well as containing previously unknown pieces by Avison and transcriptions of music by others. These manuscripts are therefore of great importance both to the cultural history and heritage of Newcastle and the North East and to our understanding of the musical world in England in the 18th century.
The Avison Ensemble is highlighting the existence and importance of the Workbooks through a series of events and learning projects in Newcastle and the North East with funding awarded by The Heritage Lottery Fund. www.hlf.org.uk The Workbooks are available to view in Newcastle City Library’s Newcastle Collection.
The Late Shows is an annual free late-night culture crawl across Newcastle and Gateshead where museums, galleries, studio collectives and landmark historical buildings come together to offer visitors one-off events including hands-on workshops, behind-the-scenes tours, performances and parties. It's all about encouraging people to do something cultural with their evening in celebration of the national event Museums at Night. www.thelateshows.org.uk
The Avison Ensemble is the outstanding period instrument orchestra based in Newcastle upon Tyne, which plays and popularises the music of Charles Avison (1709-1770) and other English classical composers of the Baroque period, such as Garth, Arne and Herschel. The Ensemble also performs Purcell, Handel, Vivaldi, Corelli, Geminiani, Pergolesi, Teleman, Rameau, Bach, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven.

Ne-Yo performed at Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on June 28, 2013. © Erik Kabik/ erikkabik.com
Born into a family of musicians in Arkansas on October 18, 1979, Shaffer C. Smith, aka Ne-Yo, was a youngster when his mother relocated to Las Vegas in hopes of a better life. A natural-born storyteller, Ne-Yo cited Prince, Marvin Gaye, the Rat Pack, and Stevie Wonder in his list of favorite entertainers.
The big break took place in 2004, when R&B singer-actor Mario scored a left-field #1 hit with “Let Me Love You,” which Ne-Yo co-wrote with the track’s producer Scott Storch. The song stayed at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks, and became (at the time) the most-played song in radio history, with 189.5 million audience in its peak week. It finished out 2004 as the #1 most-played song of the year at radio, and also became one of the top-selling ringtone downloads of all time.

"The hour glass" was the name of a small play by "A PART " from Poland. It was the torment of a woman that was assaulted by a man, or men, meat threatened by meat, meat coming from other meat, live flesh that is gettin exposed bit by bit to the world, in the most undiginified of manners. IS there a soul left in her, or just meat, caressed by other meat...

Women performing early morning puja facing the sun at Juhu beach, Mumbai.
Chhath is a festival dedicated to the Sun God, considered to be a means to thank the sun for bestowing the bounties of life in earth and fulfilling particular wishes.
During this period, the worshiper observes ritual purity. The main worshipers, called Parvaitin (from Sanskrit parv, meaning ‘occasion’ or ‘festival’), are usually women. However, a large number of men also are the main worshiper. The parvaitin pray for the well-being of their family, for prosperity and offspring.
The Performing for the Camera project, dedicated to the students of the art academies of Florence (Italian and international), comes from the idea of using the Marina Abramović exhibition. The Cleaner (21 September 2018-20 January 2019) as a research ground on the relationship between photography and performance, offering students the opportunity to try their hand at producing new works of art and publishing a publication.
The activity, which will have a three-month development, will allow students to approach the close link between performance and photography by analyzing the relationships and specificities of the two artistic languages. Among the events at Palazzo Strozzi are also scheduled two talks with the artists Francesca Banchelli and Caterina Pecchioli to encourage a direct confrontation with two professionals whose practice is related to the subject matter.
The theme will offer students an overview of photography used as a tool for performance documentation, or practiced as a performative act in itself, to be interpreted and applied in the field of artistic research. In the second phase of the project the works created by the students will become the material for the realization of a publication edited by the students themselves.
The project is carried out in collaboration with:
LABA – Libera Accademia di Belle Arti (prof. Massimo Agus e Maurizio Di Lella)
Lorenzo de’ Medici (prof. Gianluca Maver)
Syracuse University (prof.ssa Stefania Talini)
SACI College of Art and Design (prof. Jacopo Santini e Romeo Di Loreto)
SRISA International School of Art (prof.ssa Gloria Marco Munera).
