I watched the dancing performance at Chinatown Festival. The dancers are great. Their costumes are beautiful. This is Peruvian dance. The dancing and music are full of joy, passion and up lifting spirit.
My hands and eyes are slow and poorly coordinated. I tried to shoot a few frames and never get it right. The faces are covered by their flying dress or background not right. Finally in this one, I have both dancers' faces in the frame at least.
My personal conclusion is that watching dance is better than shooting dance. At least for me. :o)

After handling the last inbound circus train to the New York area, the Virginian heritage unit (plus five other NS units) slowly heads back toward home rails at Lane interlocking on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor. Most of the railfans that were present when the circus train arrived here had gone on to continue their chase of this historic move. I decided to wait for this last shot before heading back to work. The actual circus train consist can be seen receding into the distance toward Newark's skyline, now under the control of a pair of Amtrak ACS-64s. Amtrak will take the train to Queens, NY where the Long Island Rail Road will take over for their part of the "relay race" to Uniondale, NY.

For Compositionally Challenged - I chose red as my colour for this week. This young woman was one of the dancers continually moving around a huge grid - my first experience of performance art. It's also very unusual for me to take photos of people, so capturing this was a real challenge.
