I can't remember where I took this picture, but I'm pretty sure it was at Codemania.

Humboldt penguin at Chester Zoo posing for me :)

This South American penguin is named after the chilly Humboldt current, along which it commonly swims. In the wild, Humboldt Penguins are vulnerable to disturbances in their food chain caused by strong El-Nino currents.

Looks better if you view it full size :)

Penguins were the main highlight during our Antarctic adventure trip.

The Emperor penguin is the largest of all penguins. They grow to around 115 cm and it weighs 30-40 kilograms. Winter arrives in March in Antarctica. All creatures leave except for the emperor, the only animal that spends the winter in Antarctica’s open ice.

I immediately fell in love with the penguins, with their waddling gait, peaceful demeanor and striking features. I could spend hours watching these lovely creatures.

we had to fly 2 hours from we where camping to reach the emperor penguins..

We spent 6 hours there felt like 6 minutes, no joke...

Over the next few days I'm going to post a few more Tennessee Aquarium pictures that, I thought, turned out ok but not great by any means. Hard to get nice, sharp pictures in an aquarium. This is the penguin enclosure. out of 30 or so shots this is the only one that didn't have water drops on the glass.

Note: There was a lady in there feeding the penguins and I knocked on the glass to see if she could wipe away the drops. She pointed to a sign that said "Please Do Not knock on the glass" and gave me that Duhhhhh look. I did not like her,

Single exposure. Minor shift of curve.

The males had primarily blue bracelets, and the females had primarily pink. They are rather difficult to tell apart otherwise.
