Fifties style but built about 1962. Maybe Donovan and his St Ives Beatnik friends drank Frothy Coffee in here in the Summer of 1963.Wood in bottom RH used to gut and reconstruct it as the FRIENDSHIP CAFE, different style altogether, later the CAFFE PASTA, now being rebuilt after a fire. I had the heart shaped tables and stools in our kitchen for a long time but failed to get the GAGGIA!!The Sunday morning I collected the tables etc. there was Primitive Methodist hymn singing and preaching in the narrow lanes of St Ives....don't know if they still do it

A set of four neon tools mounted over pegboard within pine frames with a workbench look. They represent four aspects of creation of a modern human habitat.

Hammer: Building

Paint roller: Finishing

Wrench: Mechanical

Part of my workshop pegboard.

This weekend, we started settling into our new art studio and bringing it to life, with the help of our maker art friends. Sarah moved boxes with art supplies, Mark helped set up the pegboards, Howard filled them with tools, Natalina decorated the shed, Jean set up an art bench and Phyllis treated us to fresh fruit.

It felt like an old-fashioned community barn raising! I am very lucky to have such a supportive group of friends, and am really grateful for all their hard work and creative touches.

Our new backyard makerspace is a wooden 12’ x 10’ Tuff Shed, made to order, opening into our patio. It will be a great place to make art with friends, prepare for my classes and work on new ‘pataphysical projects.

I’m so happy to finally have an open space to create in, after decades of clutter in my overcrowded office. Can’t wait to start making cool things in it!

That's me in the vintage Arlen's orange t-shirt behind the counter of the last chopper shop. This is also the only color photo I have of any of the four different stores I owned showing the royal blue pegboard displays we used from the very beginning in January, 1970. Scanned from a 1975 Kodak print and post processed in Photoshop CS.

I LOVED this table~ I was kind of sad to see it go.

Each part was labeled with a price sticker and you could hold the bars out in front of you to get a feel for the fit. The top three gas tanks are fiberglass, the four lower units are steel. The pegboard was painted royal blue making a nice contrast and reflection in the chrome parts. Scanned from a 1972 b/w Kodak print and post processed in Photoshop CS, best viewed large.

This is a sprite from "Altered Beast" for Genesis.

It is 12.5" wide by 13.25" tall. It used 3,325 beads and 9 pegboards.

It is made with Perler/Hama/Nabbi fuse beads.

I made it on August 16, 2010.

Hardware Store Business Card design template by Crispin Finn.Showcased on Inkd.com.

This business card would be perfect for a local hardware shop providing friendly service to all customers. The simple, graphic business card uses the identifiable language of tools hanging from a pegboard to convey the subject.
