We rescued this little rose from the clearance corner at our local garden centre several years ago and it rewards us each summer with its sweet blooms.

Thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images and I hope you're all staying safe and well in these strange times.

I took this pic and then I noticed that someone was watching me. I have now named him Dave. He is a donkey.

Mind you, I am not surprised he is ogling this classy outfit!

All the details are in the blog post. Name of our blog is on the photo, so go and find us!

Considered common in that its found in many settings. Abundant late-May through June.

... and Franki, that goes to you

It's been 5 years now, exactly to the day, that one of my photo buddies is gone. He forgot to look in the rearview mirror and didn't see the mortal danger...we miss him dearly.

The waterfall was our favorite spot. There was never a single dull moment thanks to Franki, he was the one who always brought value to our shared passion, photography, and camaraderie. Last time I was there doing LE's, I managed to get this photo.I didn't realize it until I was coming home and sitting at my desktop computer and looking at the large screen. Delicate branches waved like hands through a hole. I was sure and that was my first mind, it was Franki with a peek a boo. I felt a gentle shivering inside me.

Thanks for taking the time and looking at my photo, I appreciate it very much!

Rainbow Lorikeet (Trichoglossus haematodus)

I was hoping that a pair of Musk Lorikeets, who were high in this tree, might give me a clear shot. They didn't! This Rainbow Lorikeet, however, decided to pop up for a photo.

Eastern Screech-Owl hidden up at least 20-25 feet in a broken tree limb; the pines as you can see made it difficult to get a clear capture. We were so thankful to a birdwatcher that called us over to have a peek. Very exciting.

When I find a flower that is in the midst of blooming, I find myself overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of what I see before me. It seems as if all extraneous noise disappears. I am one with the flower.
