For my project I explored the architecture of buildings in Portland. I used the pictures I took of the buildings and created a collage to create sort of a layered kaleidoscope effect. Prior to creating my work I looked through Brooks’ Pintrest account and found an image similar to the one I made and I thought it was interesting so I decided to try it for myself. I used my prior knowledge of photoshop in order to make my composite similar to the general idea of the original photo. This photo reflects my liking of order and structure in photography. During this project I refined my ability to use a layer mask and adjust the curves of a photo. During this process, an artistic decision I had to make was which orientation to make each building in order to make the image look best. My project was successful in recreating the general idea of the picture I had initially gotten inspiration from. I also really like how the finish product looked aesthetically. If i were to do this process again I would take even more pictures and make another image maybe with a theme or color scheme.
