A terrible shot, but the only one I took yesterday. Besides, I wanted to share the story. Since chemo, I am oxygen dependent 24/7. With portable O2 tanks I am generally able to do normal daily activities. I do, however have a difficult time walking more than a few hundred yards without getting short of breath.
Because I am considered ambulatory, my insurance would not cover a power chair. I wanted one in order to be able to attend events my grandkids are in, to go on wheel chair accessible trails, and any other activities that require walking long distances (for me).
I went to join the senior center the other day and there were a couple of these sitting in the lobby. I assumed they were for use in the center, I commented to the lady there that I had wanted one--just making conversation. She replied, "You can have one, just take it." I was stunned, to say the least. Turns out the chairs had been donated and the center in turn, gave them to people that needed them! This chair is like new--they run about $5500.
So, it is mine! I just need to get a lift for my car and I will be good to go.
I try to live by the "pay it forward" philosophy. So, I will pay it forward whenever the opportunity arises.

I'll have to stop here for today (as I've tried for an hour to successfully upload at least 6 more images and no go) but I'm glad this one worked as it is the 1st day of Advent and I wanted to have my friends get this greeting :>) To see more about my family and art, check out my other photostream at www.flickr.com/photos/bncatchesthelight/
I accidentally discovered a landmark "waterfall" on a map of the city of Stuttgart, which got me curious. There's hardly any reference to be found on the web about it, but it's there, hidden in a small gorge close to the remains of an abandoned highway that has been replaced by a tunnel system. No sign post points to it and it's not even mentioned on a map of trails that's hanging at the parking lot just a few meters away.
The place looks like a mess: The footbrigdes crossing the waterfall are in good condition, but there's debris everywhere. Not quite the touristic highlight, and not very serene either with the new freeway running by, but definitely worth seeing.
One morning while sitting at my comp I noticed the sky was purple, so I ran out to get a shot....the colour was best before I could to a good place to get a shot so this was the best I could do....but it is representative of what I saw so I like it :)
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads or Dad like figures in any childs life your own or otherwise.
This Image represents the wonderful beach of Monterosso: a small sea town in Liguria during evening. In this picture we can see in the background the typical Ligurian hills and the marvellous sea filled with rocks. Small lanterns are shining, preparing for the night to occur.

I've been playing around with the macro and flash settings on my camera this week and took 150 photos of mostly fungi! Before flickr, I only used my digital camera for listing items for sale online. I've always fallen back on photography at growth spurts in my life, this must be a new one!! What do you think? This one came from near my marsh.

This is the picture from my house in the country side. In the photo you can see the beautiful hills covered in green fields and then topped with the grey foggy sky.

This is a classic all waiting to be photographed while stationary on the line that runs through Potters Place, Andover, NH beside the classic gingerbread station there.
I like the way this looks like a child's rendition of earth and sky but especially that little bit of blue on the crest of a rust colored wave - so impressionistic :>)

On facebook at the beginning of the year there was a thing where you posted as your status that you would make something homemade in 2011 for the first five people to comment. This is a belated Thank you to Sarah of CoopCrafts (http://www.etsy.com/shop/CoopCrafts) and (coopcrafts.com/) who made this for me (even though I was number six or seven). I absolutely adore this and it looks like it was made for this love seat. Thank you Sarah!
