Gyeonghoeru (Hangul: 경회루; Hanja: 慶會樓), also known as Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, is a hall used to hold important and special state banquets during the Joseon Dynasty. It is registered as Korea's National Treasure No. 224 on January 8, 1985.
The first Gyeonghoeru was constructed in 1412, the 12th year of the reign of King Taejong, but was burned down during the Japanese invasions of Korea in 1592. The present building was constructed in 1867 (the 4th year of the reign of King Gojong) on an island of an artificial, rectangular lake that is 128 m wide and 113 m across.
Constructed mainly of wood and stone, Gyeonghoeru has a form where the wooden structure of the building sits on top of 48 massive stone pillars, with wooden stairs connecting the second floor to the first floor. The outer perimeters of Gyeonghoeru are supported by square pillars while the inner columns are cylindrical; they were placed thus to represent the idea of Yin & Yang. When Gyeonghoeru was originally built in 1412, these stone pillars were decorated with sculptures depicting dragons rising to the sky, but these details were not reproduced when the building was rebuilt in the 19th century. Three stone bridges connect the building to the palace grounds, and corners of the balustrades around the island are decorated with sculptures depicting twelve Zodiac animals.
Gyeonghoeru used to be represented on the 10,000 won Korean banknotes (1983-2002 Series).

April 22, 2022 - "The multifunctional and open city pavilion is an architectural masterpiece designed by the architects Robbrecht & Daem / Marie-José Van Hee. The roof structure and the use of glass, wood and concrete are very striking. This location can host concerts, dance performances and markets." Here is the kind of typical shot most people will get of the Germany Pavilion, but I do really like the wide look on it. It's one of the more photogenic of the World Showcase in my opinion. Enjoy and thanks for looking.

Porsche pavilion, Autostadt, Wolfsburg.
The most beautiful pavilion building in Autostadt is the one from Porsche (I will post a photo of the building later). You enter from the top and walk down in a circle. On the walls is some very impressive Porsche propaganda projected with cinema grade projectors and -soundsystem. Three cars await you: a Taycan Turbo, a Panamera and a 911 Turbo convertible with a porn red cloth roof.
Too bad there was no Targa because I think that is the prettiest car in their portfolio.
From the inside, the old pavilion reveals a quiet elegance. The wooden beams, reinforced with delicate struts, still carry the grace of careful craftsmanship, even though age has worn them down. Tiny star-shaped holes shimmer in the dim light, while side windows frame the fading day. The ground is covered with gravel, touched here and there by a veil of green moss. Through the open front, nature enters – a soft backdrop of trees and twilight.
A place where silence lingers, fragile and timeless, both decayed and beautiful.
After our trip on the Solent Wheel and wander round Old Portsmouth, we were quite tired, and it looked like it was turning showery, so JJ, Dave and I decided to try and call in at the popular Pavilion Tearooms. It's not been open very long, and was converted from some old changing rooms - I am popping some 'before' photos on Flickr too, so you can see how the outside has changed.

Penarth Pavilion is a fully restored Art Deco Pier Pavilion based on the coast in South Wales. The Pavilion is a multi-functional building housing a gallery, cinema, cafe and restaurant.
It had rained all afternoon which made me change my plans for night captures... basically canceling them. Therefore, I did not take my tripod with me when we went to Epcot for dinner. The rain let up after dinner, and I found myself in somewhat of an empty park. Not to be deterred I decided to shoot the pavilions hand held.

The Qing Yin Pavilion was unveiled on Monday, August 21st, 2023.
It has been constructed using traditional Chinese craft techniques, materials and skills, and the pavilion’s structural frame is predominantly made from Chinese Fir, alongside stone, traditional kiln fired brick and tiles from China.
The pavilion, which was created by seven artisans from the Yangzhou Classical Garden Construction Company , is the first building to be erected in The Scholar’s Garden.
Carving on the pavilion reads “Why must exquisite music come from stringed and bamboo instruments? Clear sounds echoing between mountains and rivers are more moving.”

"This pavilion is the first of four interlinked pavilions that will make up The Scholar's Garden, a project that draws inspiration from classical Chinese garden design, and due to complete in 2026. The four pavilions will represent traditional arts that were historically viewed as essential for self-cultivation: music, chess, calligraphy, and painting. "
