I captured the two images that make up this Vertorama on Thursday afternoon... at the entrance to the Sea Point Pavilion.
With spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Sea Point Pavilion is regarded by many as the most breathtakingly beautiful public swimming pool in the world. The Sea Point Pool complex consists of an Olympic size pool, plus 2 splash pools for kids, and a fully equipped springboard diving pool.
Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20 at 10mm, aperture of f14, and a 1/60th second exposure.

Kinkaku-ji's history dates to 1397, when the villa was purchased from the Saionji family by shōgun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and transformed into the Kinkaku-ji complex. When Yoshimitsu died, the building was converted into a Zen temple by his son, according to his wishes.
The building was rebuilt in 1955. The name Kinkaku is derived from the gold leaf that the pavilion is covered in. Gold was an important addition to the pavilion because of its underlying meaning. The gold employed was to mitigate and purify any pollution or negative thoughts and feelings towards death.[9] Other than the symbolic meaning behind the gold leaf, the Muromachi period heavily relied on visual excesses.[10] With the focus on the Golden Pavilion, how the structure is mainly covered in that material, creates an impression that stands out because of the sunlight reflecting and the effect the reflection creates on the pond.

The Quadracci Pavilion is the iconic sculptural addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum designed by Santiago Calatrava. The Spanish architect was inspired by the “dramatic, original building by Eero Saarinen...the topography of the city” and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie-style architecture.
The 142,050-square-foot structure was completed in 2001 and houses a grand reception hall, an auditorium, a large exhibition space, a store, two cafés, and parking. Both cutting-edge technology and old-world craftsmanship went into creating the graceful building, which was made largely by pouring concrete into one-of-a-kind wooden forms.
What a glorious day for our trip to Brighton, primarily to see the 'Snowdogs' but I took the opportunity to make a start on the Studio 26 panorama assignment. I've never tried one with a DSLR before and hadn't taken a tripod, knowing that we would be doing a lot of walking and wouldn't have much time for setting up shots - so this is a very quick, handheld, five frame vertical effort. Processed in PS Elements and Nik Color Efex. Definitely not perfect, but I'm quite pleased with how it has turned out.
I should have added a description of the pavilion last night but forgot, here it is for anyone interested, and a link to a more detailed history.

We went back the the new 6,000 sq. ft pavilion today. It is now open at Esquimalt’s Gorge Park. Not as crowded today as on opening day.
I photographed this in february. At that time this beach pavilion was still being built. I hope next time I go there it will be finished and i will be able to sit on the deck enjoying a drink ( or two ) !

The Royal Pavilion, also known as the Brighton Pavilion, is a Grade I listed former royal residence located in Brighton, England. Beginning in 1787, it was built in three stages as a seaside retreat for George, Prince of Wales, who became the Prince Regent in 1811, and King George IV in 1820. It is built in the Indo-Saracenic style prevalent in India for most of the 19th century. The current appearance of the Pavilion, with its domes and minarets, is the work of architect John Nash, who extended the building starting in 1815

The pavilion was part of the package when we bought the house and I love it! It's so peaceful inside and it's placed right beside the pool. :)
I just finished furnishing it. I painted the old bench white and sew pillows, cushions and a quilt.

RAND plastic toy camera (Diana clone) from the 1960s, I have no clue as to where or when this cheap plastic camera came to me, was great fun using it, and was pleasantly surprised by how the photos came out.

The Morocco Pavilion in Epcot's Future World section is one of my favorite places to photograph. There's always something interesting around every corner. The tile throughout the pavilion was installed by artisans brought in from Morocco.

Normally I don't think I'd photograph the pavilion at Tanyard, but the light was awesome and I had a couple of frames left to finish off. Worked out pretty nicely!

Designed by Bertie Crewe for Thomas Barrasford, the Pavilion Theatre opened at the corner of Renfield Street and Renfrew Street, Glasgow on the 29 February, 1904. It was regarded as luxurious for its time with its decor being described by the owners as “pure Louis XV”. An electrically operated sliding roof ensured good ventilation.
Performances in the early days were mainly variety, melodrama and pantomime. Many of the leading music hall artistes of the period appeared at the Pavilion, including Marie Lloyd, Little Tich, Harry Lauder, Florrie Forde, Will Fyffe, Sarah Bernhardt and a then unknown Charlie Chaplin.
