Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

~Mark Twain

A short circuit, a grey light… the brick rang loud calling for attention. No movement, the briefcase slipped out of a loosened grip. It became heavier and heavier the longer the stillness. The suit crisp and straight, never leaving the city streets; suddenly aware of the uneven ground, the shadows lifting, the bird songs of winter retreat. The ring was like a scream, so out of sorts, but not the only one.

La importancia de la pausa en la fotografía y en la vida.

Merci de vos visites, chers amis. Je vous dis à bientôt ♥.

“The pause-that impressive silence, that eloquent silence, that geometrically progressive silence, which often achieves a desired effect where no combination of words, howsoever felicitous, could accomplish it”

Mark Twain quotes

The new flickr does not please me. On the other hand, I would still like to see my flickr-friends new shots. So at the moment I'll just take a break.

Another one of the venerable Saint Charles Streetcars is paused at the intersection of Saint Charles and Napoleon Ave with a few late night stragglers tagging along for a ride home. Traffic whizzes by, paying no attention to car 953 stopped in the median. Superior Seafood discharges some of the last patrons for the evening, and the Garden District slowly falls asleep. The blitzkrieg of outbound cars will soon dwindle to the overnight schedule of just 3 per hour. Car 953 will continue on, however, and continue making trips overnight before the morning rush brings the fleet of century-old 900s out for a new day.

Thanks for looking and enjoy!

At the classroom window.

Archive: I had called to Bijan - "lunchtime, sweetie-pie!" and he came up the slope, then settled on the very edge, for a little rest and "conversation" before going for the food.

He was awfully proud of himself, fluffed up in his finest winter wardrobe.

Sometimes you just need to stop, take it all in, and appreciate what's in front of you... beautiful.

Another of my favorite photos from a shoot I did a few months ago with my husband, he's such a good sport.

He thinks I'm a little over-exuberant with the hobby, but he doesn't say much!

A lot of the pics came out really well though, I'm happy with them.

Overlooking a foggy & frosty #Chester morning. With a very full & angry river Dee flowing fast through it. Love the light, Love the day.

In these days of doubt and frustration with our own species, it helps me to remember the world is indeed a beautiful place.
