I love this book!!! Thank you Cal Patch!!

Making a new copy of a vintage 80's item for a customer, while constructing its pattern without any other tools than a pen and a tape measure. (I have just started to even make my customer's patterns all freehand - not using pins, rulers or construction manuals. And for trueing lines, I use a simple folding technique instead. Much quicker and with more fluid lines. Less is more!)

1. I marked where the spike fit while the glove was being worn.
2. That area is cut out.
3. Pin! So many pins. You'll see I kept some interfacing where the seams will be.
4. Sew! Careful around those finger joins.
5. Insert spike while turning right side out.
So, simple in theory, but fiddly in practise. It's very much the kind of patternmaking that requires you to consider planes and forms.
