New challenge on Spoonflower - "My Valentine"💗. To please your lover you need to be prepared in advance. Here is my "Winged lovers" pattern for this purpose😊 The pattern depicts a couple of young people in love holding hands and looking at each other. The inscription love under the figures of men and women forms wings. In the pattern there are large laconic forms, an element with anaglyph effect-hearts and bright, pleasant colours of living coral, yellow-orange, white, black. The image carries a message of mutual love and happiness. Products with the pattern "my Valentine" are suitable for a gift for Valentine's day, in love, on the wedding day or its anniversary, for a romantic cafe or interior. The fabric will soon appear in my shop on Spoonflower: bit.ly/2RsGK0Y The link to the contest: bit.ly/2GU40kc #tanistaja #tanistaja_pattern #diy #crafty #spoonflower #spoonflowermakers #textiledesign #patterndesign #ornaments #seamless #fabric #surfacedesign #pillow #bedding #tablecloth #curtain #napkin #wallpaper #wrappingpaper #originaldesign #homedecor #patternmaking #patterns #patternlover #sewingpattern #stvalentin #lovestory #romance #myvalentine #loveheart via Instagram bit.ly/2AvX7jH

The blouse is inspired by a traditional Swedish men's shirt. It's made with Swiss cotton lawn and cut on the bias. All the seams are french seams since the fabric is a bit see-through. The pattern is dartless for sizes up to 14, but I added a curved back seam to compensate for my sway back.

The draft for the placket is from Sylvia Rosen's book Patternmaking: A Comprehensive Reference for Fashion Design that I borrowed from the library. Not a five star book, but it has some good info.

I have reviewed the pattern on Pattern Review

FOSSASIA at Libre Graphics Meeting Madrid 2013, MediaLab Prado with Hong Phuc Dang

@ Suntec City, Singapore.

Structure: The fountain is made of silicon bronze, and consists of a circular ring with a circumference of 66 metres supported on four large slanted columns. It occupies an area of 1683.07 square metres, with a height of 13.8m. The sand cast silicon bronze, including all formwork and patternmaking was designed, manufactured and installed by DCG Design and Meridian Projects (from Melbourne Australia) in 1995. The base area of the fountain is 1,683 square metres. In the design plan of Suntec City, where the five tower blocks represent the fingers and thumb of a left hand emerging from the ground, the fountain forms the palm of the hand.

History: The Fountain of Wealth was constructed in 1995, together with the main Suntec City development. A symbol of wealth and life, the Fountain Of Wealth is recognized since 1998 by the Guinness Book Of World Records as the World's Largest Fountain. The bronze ring of the fountain is designed based on the Hindu Mandala, meaning universe and is a symbolic representation of the oneness in spirit and unity and further symbolizes the equality and harmony of all races and religions in Singapore.

During certain periods of the day, the fountain is turned off and visitors are invited to walk around a mini fountain at the centre of the fountain's base for good luck.

Trying to finish this damn sweater before Tuesday morning. I don't think I'm going to make it.

Late at night and the second attempt on draping a Less Seams blouse (also called Blouse No. 4 - planning on 10 sets, probably will take forever). This one will end up having a total of 2 seams + 2 pleat tucks and some hemming of 4 edges. Still made out of one single continuous piece of fabric with only two cuts into it on a whole blouse (for now), and done without the use of a flatiron of course.

Pink - pant

Grey/black - dress

Purple - vest

color on pattern is indicative of pattern piece not garment color.

Having achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and a few quarters away from achieving her Bachelor of Science in Pattern Design (Pattern Making), Christina Manolescu embarks on a career that is “...beyond what I ever thought I would achieve.”

Last quarter she began working freelance as a pattern maker for several different design companies. Her first experience was with couturier Roberto De Villacis on a few garments that were made-to-measure for his fit model. “She was so stunned by the fit that she wanted to take the muslin cut home!” At the same time, Christina embarked on her first custom wedding gown, embroidery and all.

I'm currently working in collaboration with artist/illustrator Rachel Arthur. She has illustrated 7 fabulous Australian coastal birds that I'm transforming into a range of art toys to become part of the Flying Star Toy world.

We both have a love of folk art and a desire to evolve an iconography of our local environment. This coastal bird series of art toys (7 int total) are all birds found in the local environment around Brisbane Australia.

Black Swan, Silver Gull and Australian Pelican will shortly be exhibitioned in Sydney.
